Warhammer Fantasy The Old World RPG (TOW) is not WFRP Revised

They specifically cited how they wanted to lessen the impact lore-nerds had on play. They felt people who knew a vast amount of setting lore would tend to dominate actual play so by changing the setting of this new rpg, they could get everyone on more equal footing. I appreciate their efforts here as I've seen that problem at my own game table.

In general, I think they're trying to rope in a slightly different audience than just the usual Warhammer crowd and I hope they're successful.

Yes. I loved the system (particularly the character generation and the streamlined approach to GMing), but was upset with the new direction for Dragonlance (including the novels). I believe there was a Marvel game that used the SAGA rules, too, but never got a chance to try it.
It had several MAJOR differences
5 suits, not 9
Suit distribution differs (4 main suits [1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9] instead of 8 main suits with [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9]; Doom [1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10] vs Dragons [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10])
GM plays cards for NPCs (DL5A is players play all the cards; foe attacks are player plays to avoid them).

In re WHOW, I will probably get the core in PDF...
