I thought I had seen a video on test screenings saying that they need to have several reshoots to fix some things based on it looking like a flop. I want it to be a good movie, but it seems like nobody can make a good FF movie. Part of me thinks that now the MCU is so filled with crossovers, alternate worlds, timelines and figuring out how to place people in that it starting to make no sense.

Having looked around a bit, it might be more specific - it sounds like original filming didn't give an origin of the Silver Surfer, so that audiences weren't getting the intended impressions of the character. The actress was seen on set in the reshoots in a normal costume instead of the getup they used for Surfer motion capture, which may mean she gets some more context as being a person before being the Herald of Galactus.
I think "how do we place these people in the MCU" is the least problem for an FF movie.
Prior FF movies were before the MCU, and flopped, so how to work them in isn't the problem.

OK so @trappedslider is crying because the ship is named for Stan Lee’s catchphrase?
Why are they saying it might not be the same ship? Are they implying that the FF ship in the Thunderbolts* credit scene isn’t going to have the same FF from the upcoming FF movie?

Never gave half a toss about the Fantastic 4, but the Silver Surfer has been one of my favotire characters for decades. I'm digging the retrofuturistic design of the film and the fact that afaict they made Galactus actually, well, Galactus this time.
