You’re right, that’s very true about single parent families. But the vast majority of divorces (85% of divorced people in the US have been divorced once; 15% have been divorced more, of which 10% are twice) are one and done, I think.Also, only 1/5 of the households in the US currently are nuclear families (two parents, one or more children). Single parent families are more common, which isn’t surprising since more than half of all marriages end in divorce (and that’s more likely with children). I imagine other Anglophone countries have similar numbers.
