Canada Worldbuilding

You know, it doesn't take fantasy to make Canada gameable.
I wrote a Shadowrun adventure essentially re-enacting this and the players didn't believe it was real.

As a follow-up, I sent them another job involving rival snow-removal businesses, as described above.
They didn't believe that was real either.

They don't let me run Shadowrun no more. They claim I'm too "fantastic".
Even the guy who played a warforged warlock/warlord.

your are not wrong.
I recently picked up the following book and it's full of great buildings to use.

I think its in part, my grumble about Edmonton: They always seem to remove the wrong building, so it's easy enough to fix. (with your imagination).

also been using the facebook groupss , Alberta's Abandoned History, Historic Edmonton, Backroads Alberta, Creating Memories Through our Lens.

I would certainly love other books or sites of a similar nature.

If you are going fantasy, I think it is best to start small. Toronto would be a good start, then choose the state and national parks that are in the vicinity for adventuring sites/exploration. Then, build out the next closest big city. Use the main road structure. And keep plugging in wild lands and small towns. Develop commerce for city/village. Try to make them unique and known for something. If you are using various species, distribute them based on how the environment shaped their culture. And lastly, since it is Canada, make sure all NPCs are nice and helpful. ;)
