Canada Worldbuilding

Here is a little known fact about Canada.
When the country was founded they couldn't agree on how to name it.
One of its founders proposed, "I have an idea! Let's put letters in a hat which one trusted member will draw and call-out, while a second trusted member will transcribe!"
As all other methods had been exhausted and unsuccessful, everyone agreed on this approach.
So they began.
The first trusted member drew and called out the following letters:
"C" eh
"N" eh
"D" eh

While a variety of theories have been postulated for the etymological origins of Canada, the name is now accepted as coming from the St. Lawrence Iroquoian word kanata, meaning "village" or "settlement".
