The Fantastic Four: First Steps - Official Teaser Trailer (2025)

OK so @trappedslider is crying because the ship is named for Stan Lee’s catchphrase?
Yes
Why are they saying it might not be the same ship? Are they implying that the FF ship in the Thunderbolts* credit scene isn’t going to have the same FF from the upcoming FF movie?
The Excelsior as seen throughout the trailers has three legs.
The ship seen in the Thunderbolts* post-credit scene has four.

To break things down Stan Lee along with Jack Kirby created the Fantastic Four, but since neither one is still with us, the way they are honoring Stan Lee is naming one of the ships used in the movie "Excelsior" which was Stan Lee's own catch-phrase.

two different ships, two different names.
I get that - but what else does it mean? For instance, does it mean that the Thunderbolts* credits scene is not a teaser for the Fantastic Four coming to the main MCU? Or does it just mean that when they do, it'll be in a different ship to the one that they're using in the upcoming movie? That's what I'm confused about.

I can't wait to see what Saturday Night Live does for an encore to the Dune Popcorn Bucket sketch with the Galactus Head and H.E.R.B.I.E. popcorn vessels.

It probably means that they use a three-legged ship in the FF origin story, and a 4-legged ship later when they reach the rest of the MCU.
