@Ryujin as a fellow diabetic, let me encourage you very strongly to get your eyes checked, and regularly. We are vulnerable to damage that can’t heal, and serious diabetic retinopathy really, really sucks. Your eyes fill up with blood from burst blood vessels in the retina (which messes a lot with your vision), and the treatment is then regularly poking your eyeballs with a needle to draw the blood off. The damage isn’t reversible, but there are things you can do to slow it way down, and you want to.

I sincerely hope that isn't entirely the voice of experience, because that sounds like an experience that--as you say--really, really sucks.
It’s an oddity of my health that I have weirdly little retinal damage despite a diabetic catastrophe that led to me losing 120 pounds in 4 months. I have friends dealing with it, though.
As I recall, you are frequently a bag of "Huh. That shouldn't work like that..."

After weeks of having to use my room mate's shower, I am once again able to use my own! No more grabbing the broom and dustpan every time I take a shower. Unfortunately while hooking everything back up, they replaced my shower head with a new one that doesn't detach and has too many settings.
Definitely still true.
