Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

You might be able to find templates with symbols you can use. I use a Halloween themed template for the spider. And the templates are cheap.

Yeah, they're definitely out there, I've seen people using them before - I'd check the nail supply companies' websites or similar places, they'll probably have a wider selection. Or maybe goth makeup/gear sites for skulls and stuff. I've also seen dedicated sci-fi stuff.

I seem to recall several years ago, somebody did a KS for some not-Battletech details, although I don't remember if they were templates or decals.

Working on a proof of concept. I am pretty unhappy with the glowing effect. I think using red first was a mistake. I’m going to cover th entire area with a smoky color and try again with a thinned oil of white and then glaze on orange.

Scales are looking okay, but I need to figure out a light wash that will darken the shadows without dulling the luster too much.

Man, glow effect is so hard some times.

This….monstrosity on my head is supposed to help me see small details.

They helped put some flesh, something like eyes, and clean up the hood.
