Yeah a very fine line indeed. I'm not sure they needed the arrest at the end, that might have taken it just one step too far. I know that actually happens in real life, but I think its pushed the narrative too far from the balance.
Before the arrest, the impact ICE is having is very clear. People are scared, people are running, the ER is disrupted. ICE is clearly in a bad light, but you could still see it as "they are just doing their jobs"....again letting the viewers decide for themselves how to see it.
But once you arrest the nurse you firmly move them into "these are bad guys" territory. For their goal of "portray it without sensationalizing" I think it was one step too far that wasn't really needed, they already showcased the tension and fear that ICE brings exceptionally well, it didn't need to go the extra mile.
Is it realistic? I'm sure it absolutely is, but yeah considering what a hot topic that is right now, I think they could have gone one step softer on the approach.
That said, its the Pitt, and every epsisode is gold
What is interesting to me as we go into the home stretch, the first season towards the end was just about the raw overwhelming deluge of medical problems especially with the shooting. Just the horror show of mass casulaties with a bunch of young recruits that were dealing with it the first time. Most of the mental issues were with characters like Robbie, and Dana here and there.
This season the actual "issues" arean't as much, but its all the things around the medicine. Systems going down, personal problems, personnel conflicts with Langdon, now ICE....its the stuff around the medicine that is getting everyone to a boiling point. You just feel everyone's tension and anxiety....it feels like anyone and everyone could blow a gasget by the end.
Another interesting scene between Robbie and Mohan, and I continue to love the complexity of Pitt characters. I love Robbie, but man he is going HARD on Mohan right now. When she says "maybe I don't belong here"....he doesn't correct her or support her, he just leaves it silent in the air. OOF! Maybe that is actually how he feels, Mohan shouldn't be an ER doctor. Maybe its everything else building up for him. But yeah its a brutal scene especially when you see him being supportive of people like Mel and then the comparative scene with Mohan.
And wow...santos and langdon finally spell out the tension between the two of them and Dr. Al-Hashimi overheard,also hot car boy's mom...wow I'm so glad Al-Hashimi was there. Oh no
