Missoula Mad Dies Breaking into Hobby Store

Holy crap, I think I AM the fat one in my MERP group. Since we play online I have not met two of the other (five) players. They're friends with my former roommate though, and I can easily see them being health/excercise oriented like he is. Hmmm, wonder what the rest of my WLD group looks like.

Not sure about the OP, but thats the one I was thinking of.

    wepon companion

I've seen a couple of things like this. There is a weapon familiar feat in one of the Eberron books, either "Races of" or the campaign setting book. Alternatively, White Wolf had one in the "Vigil Watch: Secrets of the Asaathi" book.

How much to tip the pizza delivery guy?

It depends. If he mouths off or gets real snarky, usually about degrees. I may tip him to 77 or more if he's really bent out of shape. Generally if they're nice I don't tip them at all, I figure they're fine the way they are. One fun thing to do, just before you tip them, say, "Whats your...

How do you rule on quarter-races?

I'd be inclined to go this route as well. A good DM will let you describe a character differently within reason. I briefly had an aberration blooded character I described as having scaly purple skin.

Why they cast Animate Dead on Orville's Corpse?

    Orville Redenbacher...or Orville DEADenbacher?

How Generic is Races of Eberron?

The races strike me as pretty heavily centered in Eberron. I could see Shifters and Changelings in other settings as they're related to monsters that are very common in most settings. Warforged are the stickler I think. We recently talked about this in one of my groups and I've come to the...

Ever write something and absolutely hate it?

All the time. I can't think of a single paper I handed in last semester that didn't have me cringing. I also did not get anything lower than a "B+", and nothing lower than an "A" in any class related to my major, which is English. I've heard more than one person say that I'm really hard on...

    Spontaneous Curing and Metamagic.

D'oh, well that answers that. Thanks Aura, guess I need to look a little harder next time.

    Stats for a peg leg?

Off the top of my head, I'd imagine you could halve the penalties for losing the leg. I would imagine a peg leg would afford a little extra mobility but of course, not nearly so much as the original leg. A few other thoughts. I'm just tossing these out rapidly so if anything sounds a bit out of...

    Spontaneous Curing and Metamagic.

Can a cleric who uses a spell slot to cast a "Cure" spell, apply a metamagic feat to that spell and lose a higher slot? For example, if a cleric decides to lose a 6th level spell slot, can they cast an empowered (+2 spell level) Cure Critical Wounds that heals 6d8+X HP? I couldn't find anything...

    Why Enworld?

I apologize if something like this has already been done. I was just curious, why are you, fellow Enworld member, here? Personally, I have very little interest in rules debates or industry gossip but I like looking at the house rules section and all the odd creative stuff that folks come up...

Missoula Mad Dies Breaking into Hobby Store

Not quite. There've been Darwins for folks who have had children. One in particular involved a kid stabbing his father to death after being goaded into the act by his father.

Cue the Choir (Final Battle music)

If you're not opposed to midis, you can find a lot of video game music here. Theres any number of battle oriented themes. When my WLD group gets into a battle, I usually listen to Luca Blights fight theme from Suikoden 2. Failing that, I think Rob Zombie makes good "smash bad guys" music.

Techniques for spicing up aventures! By: Everyone?!

Combat is a good way to get PC's together early on. My MERP group recently started a game this way. It sort of went in a domino effect. 1: My character is a 9'6 Beorning and fugitive after he committed murder. Stomps into the tavern to get a drink before leaving town. 2: The GM's made a...

    DMG2 & PHB2 - are they worth it!

Merkuri and I have both. Personally I like the PHB2. I don't really have much of an opinion on the DMG2 simply because I'm not a DM. Looks nifty but I don't have any basis for judging whats inside it.

    Nightfall's Not so Incredible Journey

Yikes. Good to hear that you got out of that okay. I had a similar experience a few years ago. Driving in a massive snowstorm is a bad idea if you don't like going 45 mph sideways. Although, I was able to drive out of the ditch.

    Stupidest things PCs/DMs have done

I hate to say it, but the last few pages of this seem to me to be mostly DM ass-hattery and unfortunate (but not stupid) events. :\ Some of these don't even sound like they could be represented mechanically in any system I'm aware of.

[Creative Exercise] Worlds in a word, planes in a paragraph

The House of Pitch: Information about this plane is sketchy at best. There is no natural light and light sources brought from off-world simply die. The one known inhabitant is the Grey Lady, a woman holding some kind of everburning candle that glows with an eery blue light. Reports suggest that...
