Two words... Weenie monsters. If you throw a bucket of 1 HD creatures at them, the weeenie monsters need around a 20 to hit AC 20 and up, and it doesn't matter if a PC has AC 25 or 30. I've tried this tactic against super high AC characters before and it works. If you as the DM make enough...

Right now I'm running a Dragonstar game, and with whole planets that have magic and advanced communications technology, you can buy pretty much any magic item you want if you're willing to fly a few systems away.

The FF also gave us the death knight, iron cobra, and necrophidius. All cool monsters IMHO. Of course, it was also the home of the nilbog and flumph.

Yep. I'd say it works great, but I've noticed a lot of the CoC monsters as written don't have energy resistance, which tends to make them blaster fodder. I may need to change that. Actually, I'm running Dragonstar characters through a modified version of RttToEE using CoC monsters and...
