Do you play in games you aren't enjoying?

Nope. Life is too short. If I discover a game I'm playing isn't fun, I find a different game. I mean, duh. :) -DM Jeff

What rules do you use for castle/temple building?

Stronghold Builders Guidebook - which works very well for our use. -DM Jeff

So, what published 3e adventures are you always going to remember?

And who could forget true greatness in RED HAND OF DOOM, Wizards of the Coast's fine dragonspawned romp of evil! More rememberies from the players. POSSIBLE SPOILERS! * The behir at the giant lion cave swallowing whole poor Humphrey the first, riding dog extraordinaire. * A bard NPC taking out...

So, what published 3e adventures are you always going to remember?

I think I'll be coming back to this thread over the next few days, but let's begin with VAULT OF LARIN KARR by Necromancer Games. Fond memories all 'round. No review, as requested, just war stories. I asked a couple of my players to recall some for me. POSSIBLE SPOILERS! ● The VERY FIRST vault...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder #2: The Skinsaw Murders

I'm really digging it. The chapter on Desna is really a breath of fresh air. The monsters seems fitting and well done. I just started the adventure itself and so far so good! I also like that they finally gave faces to all the iconics and that they'll be more fleshed out in the next few books...

Save my Game: The future of online Wotc content?

More worrisome is where will all the 3.5 articles go after next May? All I DO know is they all download and fit on the 4E jumpdrive they gave away at GenCon. :p -DM Jeff

What's the top level in your campaign world?

Wow, what an interesting question. In a 2e D&D Fiorgotten Realsm game I ran, after 12th level the PCs were wildly potent and began exploring the planes to find the next challenge. In 3e, that changed. I ran a Kalamar game that didn't involve any planar threats until 17th level. The exact model...

Where will 3.5 Grognards Hang Out Come May 2008?

I was honestly fearful I would get either a) annoyed or b) depressed reading nothing except news and info regarding a game that has failed to interest me in any way and I'll have no use for. I hated the idea of really leaving, however, which is why it's so great we'll still be catered too. Game...

Any good one session non dungeon crawl 3.5 ed adventures?

Spoiler here: WotC made the Avenging Executioner prestige class and used Peck the Swan Streeet Slicer as the NPC example on pages 24-28 of Complete Scoundrel! -DM Jeff

Where will 3.5 Grognards Hang Out Come May 2008?

End of workday musing. Where will us 3.5 “grognards” go come May 2008? As it is the only part of En World really “moving” anymore is the 4E section. I can’t complain as this is a ‘current edition’ website. But I mean, for whatever reason I am imagining a messageboard/community where I can go...

D&D 4E What don't you like about 4E so far? (Not a rant)

    1) The PR. ALL the PR, and its condesending additude. It's this (and the fact the timing is WAY too soon) that doesn't even have me looking any further into glimpses into the game at all. 2) They're fixing what ain't broke. 3) Change for the sake of change. -DM Jeff

    Wilderlands Roll Call!

I happily own the NG version, and I will be running it in the future, both my players and I are looking forward to it and have discussed that at length. It's all part of my "3.5 retirement fund". -DM Jeff

    Happy Birthday, Wayne Reynolds!

I find myself just as often, flipping back to a WAR piece and taking it all in just like I used to with the art of my childhood. Happy Birthday Mr. Reynolds! -DM Jeff

I wish all publishers would go systemless.

Not to thread hijack, but when is the d20 companion book slated for release? As it is the Pirate's Guide to Freeport page notes that book as "coming soon". -DM Jeff

    Dungeon-light campaign-length adventures

Seconded (and not just because I did the updates :) ) but each adventure also has 2-3 lite hooks linking the adventure with a couple others in the book to make it more like an ongoing adventure path. -DM Jeff

Any good one session non dungeon crawl 3.5 ed adventures?

I'll jump in here and assume the OP meant 3.5 D&D. I can recommend "Shut In" by F. Wesley Schneider and James Sutter in Dungeon #128. I've run it for both my groups, once at level 2 and another at level 8 with significant creature updates and both groups equally adored it. "An elusive killer is...

    Rules Compendium excerpt

No, we've used them in all sorts of circumstances! :) So, seriously, then, are they good? They work for my group and get the job done. I have no problems and answer the questions players and I have when using them. They probebally could be improved, but that's my whole irrational beef...

How did you teach your kid to play D&D?

My daughters have grown up dealing with the adult's game nights. They'd listen in with the other kiddies during various parts of the sessions and got the basics down from that. Three years ago, at ages 7 and 11, I started them on D&D Minis. I'd give them two or three low-powered cards each and...

D&D 4E 4E WotC way of saying your fired?

I'm just chiming in with nothing to contribute except this: If 3.5 is my severance package, fire me. Please, fire me. I'll be fine. :) Continue... -DM Jeff
