Well, I haven't got an opportunity to get a decent look at 3.5 ed, or run a game with it yet, but I can categorically say that I won't be using the new weapon size/handedness rules stuff. Silly and totally unnecessary. Blech.

I was under the impression that they removed ambidexterity because virtually no-one took it without TWF. Handedness is virtually never an issue in D&D, and the Ambidex feat was only ever used with TWF. Combining them makes sense. Just my opinion...

Yeah, that's how I did it in D&D too... 6 lots of 1/6 CR beasties = total CR 1... But according to d20 modern, if all creatures have the same CR, you add a number based on the amount of creatures (table 7-6 says 2 creatures +2 CR, 3 creatures +3 CR etc.)... which is how I get my end EL of 6...

Here's a crazy idea; have a group of arm wrestling opponents lined up each with a higher STR than the last... so starting off with say a Kobold, and going right up to something like a Hill Giant? Then you wrestle each one in turn (maybe best 2 of 3) and see how far you get...
