Anyone have the Tempest Req handy? (MOTW)

Re: Re: Thanks to both of you! Very interesting concept. Nice AC too! Was this character a duelist? What were your character levels (classes) if you don't mind me asking. - K.

Anyone have the Tempest Req handy? (MOTW)

Thanks to both of you! Hey Baron, That's an interesting level build there. I might have to look into that. I have a quick question for you. For a fighter/rogue character who fights two handed, is he/she better off with Weapon Finesse (Rapier) or Weapon Finesse (Short Sword). I'm trying to...

    Dragon 301 and Parry Feats

Hello there, Dragon 301 is not in my area yet, so I wanted to ask you a few questions about the new parry feats in the November issue. Can you tell me in general what benefits the following feats provide? Thanks! - Kae. Parry Crushing Defense Expert Parry Guarded Defense Improved Parry...

Neverwinter Nights Parry Skill and Improved Parry Feat. Use it in your D&D game?

Rav, I came up with this feat before seeing the NWN rules. Is this feat better for balance? Thanks, - Kae. Parry [General] You have learned to evade an opponent's strike and deliver a counter strike when your opponent is most vulnerable: at the same instant your opponent attempts to strike...

Neverwinter Nights Parry Skill and Improved Parry Feat. Use it in your D&D game?

Sound pretty powerful! So you're basically saying that the NWN mechanic is broken ;) Seems like it. I guess I would have to play test it.

    Useless feats (re: Combat Casting)

How often does concentration even come into play? Our group in a few years of play has never needed to even roll a concentration check. I'm with Forsaken on this one. Unless a spellcaster gets completely surrounded which has never happened in our game, I just don't see the use for it. - Kae.

Neverwinter Nights Parry Skill and Improved Parry Feat. Use it in your D&D game?

No responses? I guess no one uses these rules then....;)

Neverwinter Nights Parry Skill and Improved Parry Feat. Use it in your D&D game?

Neverwinter Nights has a parry skill and improved parry feat. Below I swiped the skill and feat descriptions from a NWN fansite. Have any of you tried using the NWN parry rules in your pen and paper D&D games? The parry rules seem interesting. For those of you that have used these...

Question RE: Dire Charge and Sneak Attack

If a rogue has dire charge, charges up with weapon(s) in hand, and either flanks or catches a target flat-footed, can she perform a full attack action on the target and have each attack get sneak attack damage? Thanks, - Kae.

Why would anyone ever want the quickdraw feat?

Re: Re: This isn't how I understand it... Yep, you hit it dead on. That's why I was confused. I understand the error of my ways now hehehe. Thanks a lot! - Kae.

Why would anyone ever want the quickdraw feat?

Re: Re: I don't mean to be argumentative... I appreciate the clarification. How about this though....what if the said character has Dire charge, draws his weapon, charges, and attacks. Dire charge is an epic level feat that allows a full attack action with a charge. Would quickdraw be...

Why would anyone ever want the quickdraw feat?

I understa You're right. It specifically says 'combine one of these actions with a regular move'. This implies that regular move has to be taken to get this benefit, and if a regular move is taken then a full attack action is cannot be performed. Thanks for the clarification! - Kae.

Why would anyone ever want the quickdraw feat?

I don't mean to be argumentative... Not allowing a full attack action doesn't see logical. Here's why I say so.... If the character has over +1 BAB, and is allowed draw a weapon (or two weapons if she has two weapon fighting) without spending a normal move, then that means the character can...

Why would anyone ever want the quickdraw feat?

This isn't how I understand it... Read this again from the SRD This means that the 11th level fighter in your example could draw his weapon without using a move-equivalent action and therefore could get all his attacks as long as he didn't move greater than 5'. - Kae.

Why would anyone ever want the quickdraw feat?

From the SRD So if the character is only a single weapon wielder, then Quickdraw is not very useful. I can see now where multi weapon wielders or dagger throwers would like this feat. Thanks! - Kae.

Why would anyone ever want the quickdraw feat?

I know some prestige classes require the quickdraw feat, but other than that why would anyone want it? Quickdraw allows one to draw a weapon as a free action instead of a move equivalent action. However, doesn't the Player's Handbook read that anyone who has BAB of +1 or higher can...
