    D&D 5E (2014) More Details About Laeral Silverhand’s Explorer’s Kit

If I recall correctly, the Crown is in Skullport beneath Waterdeep. I think it is owned by a yuan-ti whose name I forget and may now be a lich.

    D&D 5E (2014) More Details About Laeral Silverhand’s Explorer’s Kit

The box is concealing part of the map, namely the High Forest. I'd take that as a hint. Perhaps the new book has something to do with the Crown of Horns. I'll add that Perkins tweeted about a project for 2020 back in November: 5E - Chris Perkins drops 2020 hint!

TSR Gary’s Immersion in Castle El Raja Key: The Four-Way Footsteps

This is great, Rob. Thanks for sharing. Here's some immersive fun I've had recently. The party found a wand of lightning bolts in an ancient tomb built for knights whose order was dedicated to ridding the area of a blue dragon. The order is gone but the dragon is still around. Lately, the...

    D&D General Scrimshaw Prices

The players in the campaign I'm DMing are likely to come into possession of a sizeable amount of Icewind Dale scrimshaw. I'm trying to figure out what it might be worth. Anyone have suggestions or sources on pricing for carved knucklehead?

    D&D 5E (2014) Charisma Conundrum

I allow charisma to be used in battle. It can be used to feign a surrender or negotiate a mutual cease-fire, as long as this is narratively plausible. Just the other day, one of my players used Persuasion to talk two air-elementals into ending a fight that had badly damaged the elementals...

    D&D 5E (2014) Wyrmskull Throne

Has anyone played the 2E Wyrmskull Throne adventure? I tried looking for reviews online and didn't find any in the usual places. Wondering if it is any good and if there's a way I could tie it into Storm King's Thunder.

    D&D 5E (2014) [greyhawk] Oerth Journal #30 released

It was Greytalk and Canonfire! I think. It's been too many years.

I remember reading your posts from years and years ago. Was it at OJ? Forget where exactly.

D&D General Accursed Tower: Map Problems

I decided, in order to figure out how the tower should work, to actually build it out of cardboard. You can't see much of the interior but I'll post that later. It's not exactly fine miniature art but it's all to scale and I actually made the fallen tower work properly.

    D&D 5E (2014) Storm King's...CHULT!

So this will definitely get weird. I'm thinking the characters have to travel to Mezro in its demiplane to bring it back. But Acerak is already there for some reason. I dunno: maybe this is Die, Venca, Die! all over again. But with Acerak. So then we get to finish ToA. Going to have to figure...

    D&D 5E (2014) Storm King's...CHULT!

I'm thinking of a lot of cool things to throw at them. Investigation in Waterdeep to discover where Artus Cimber might be. Journey to Chult that includes battling pirates/slavers/etc. Maybe they'll be enslaved! Investigation in Chult to find Artus Cimber. The giants are there, searching for...

D&D General Is character class an in-world concept in your campaigns?

Not really. I think that in-world people recognize different types but not anything as strict as character classes. An elf fighter and an elf rogue wouldn't necessarily think they were different classes but perhaps just folks with different fighting styles.

    D&D 5E (2014) Storm King's...CHULT!

Thanks. It wasn't something I had been planning. I've set most of my campaign so far between Luskan and Icewind Dale. But I like the idea of letting the players decide which leads to chase. And maybe after all this time in the cold north, heading down to the the jungles would be a good change of...

    D&D 5E (2014) Storm King's...CHULT!

The party I've been DMing through Storm King's Thunder is becoming very obsessed with the Ring of Winter. They really want to go in search of it. SPOILER ALERT. There is a quest where the party can go search out Artus Cimber in Waterdeep but it's a red herring/dead end. But I've been...

D&D General Accursed Tower: Map Problems

Actually, I think the scale of the map is more like 2 1/2 feet per square, which is bonkers. The map doesn't give a scale but judging from the text, that's what it appears to amount to. The fallen tower is actually quite interesting. You have to hoist yourself up onto a curved passageway in the...

Can anyone suggest some good dungeon-oriented map making software? I'll definitely give it a shot.

D&D 5E (2014) White Plume Mountain in Storm King's Thunder

Totally agree. The adventure is bonkers. But in a fun way and I don't mind the occasional departure from the typical grimness of my campaigns.

D&D 5E (2014) White Plume Mountain in Storm King's Thunder

Spoiler Alert. Duh. I've been running Storm King's Thunder since January. (If you're curious, check out my posts on it elsewhere in the forum. It's mostly been set between Luskan and Icewind Dale.) I'm not in love with the "raid the burial mounds" section. Or, at least, I feel like this part...
