    "Stop sneaking! They'll hear you!"

Hear, hear. I can't wait to try 4E in a Hyborian Age setting. If only they had included the barbarian!

    "Stop sneaking! They'll hear you!"

You're right. Conan has plenty of its own retardedness...

    Battlestar Galactica-Final Season (4) 4/25/08--Escape Velocity

I hope so. I've put up with this season so far assuming the rather dull episodes are just set up for the rest of the season. They're going to show, what, 11 episodes this time before another break? After teasing us with the prospect of finding Earth, they're really dragging their feet with that...

D&D 4E My First 4E Game: Disappointing. Yours? (UPDATED with player feedback)

Two things might have helped: 1. A full version of the rules. I fail to understand how anyone could possibly pass judgment on a game before seeing all the rules. Talk about a knee-jerk reaction. 2. Players that aren't total bell-ends. Whipping out laptops while assuring you that they'll finish...

D&D 4E What was Paizo thinking? 3.75 the 4E clone?

It may be a little hard for anyone that frequents these boards to approach D&D as if it were a new game to them, without at least a little myopia. But when newer versions of anything are available, people are less likely to buy old products unless they have some sort of attachment to them...

D&D 4E What was Paizo thinking? 3.75 the 4E clone?

Oh, I'm sure 4E will have its own set of flaws. But I'm excited about finding out what they are:).

D&D 4E What was Paizo thinking? 3.75 the 4E clone?

Again, an unfair comparison. Conan has its own name recognition and is likely to sell regardless of the system, as long as that system isn't utter crap. True20 and Hackmaster I can't envision lasting too long after 4E for the reasons outlined above. Just give it time, and see whether they're...

D&D 4E What was Paizo thinking? 3.75 the 4E clone?

It seems you're comparing apples and oranges. It's not as if Pathfinder were an entirely different game. It is, essentially, a soon-to-be-outdated edition of D&D, no matter what its name, and I'm quite certain anyone playing it will know this. In releasing 4E, WotC is declaring it to be an...

D&D 4E What was Paizo thinking? 3.75 the 4E clone?

I've only skimmed the Alpha document, but I seem to recall Paizo including their own XP chart. And flavor text can always be changed. So I don't see any reason Pathfinder couldn't continue beyond the print life of the 3.5 core books. As another poster here has already mentioned, however, while...

D&D 4E What was Paizo thinking? 3.75 the 4E clone?

I agree. 5,000 downloads does not necessarily equate to 5,000 purchased copies in '09, especially when the download is free. I'm sure there are many people, like Jack and myself, that download it out of curiosity, even if we have no intention of playing it. This does still bode well for Paizo...

D&D 4E What was Paizo thinking? 3.75 the 4E clone?

Only if you're interested in preserving the intended encounter difficulty. Of course, I always thought that was one of the main reasons for converting.

D&D 4E What was Paizo thinking? 3.75 the 4E clone?

Sure. But that does take prep time, which is, it seems to me, precisely Mourn's point. I agree that 3.5 materials are much easier to convert to Pathfinder than to 4E, but to call Pathfinder backwards compatible is false advertisement.

D&D 4E What was Paizo thinking? 3.75 the 4E clone?

Backwards compatible? Except any 3.5 product used with Pathfinder would need a myriad a tiny adjustments for the new racial bonuses, fighter attack and AC bonuses, etc. At a quick glance it looks about as compatible with 3.5 as 3.5 was with 3.0.

What Didn't We get for 3.5 Miniatures?

While the rust monster would have been nice to have from an RPG standpoint, DDM is a minis game. How would a rust monster work with the minis rules? Extra damage against constructs? Figs with Iron or Steel in their name? Those appearing to wear metal armor? I can only imagine the debates that...

Download conversion of "D3 Vault of the Drow"

I can only speak for myself, but I was referring to the Atlantean Edition.

Download conversion of "D3 Vault of the Drow"

Amen to that. I'm a Conan fan and like the site but find the Conan RPG sorely lacking. MGP in general doesn't seem to playtest their products much.

[SWSE] Are Jedi just plain better than everyone else?

Since anyone can edit it, there's no way of knowing that. By its very nature, it's just as reliable as Wikipedia, which is to say not reliable at all.

[SWSE] Are Jedi just plain better than everyone else?

I don't think Wookieepedia was ever approved by Lucasfilm as canon. Darn cool site, though.

[SWSE] Are Jedi just plain better than everyone else?

Actually, according to the novel Dark Lord, the clone troopers had no preprogrammed order to kill the Jedi. But they were "hardwired" to obey Palpatine, who had established Order 66 as a so-called emergency plan should the Jedi attempt a takeover. Some troopers, not believing the order to be in...
