D&D 5E The 14th Level Abjurer Tradition Feature IS Nucking Futs. Right?

Yes it is very strong and is one of the several reasons why Abjurers are considered one of the strongest Wizard schools. I think the 10th level Improved Abjuration feature is just as strong and more under-rated.

    Barbarian Archetype: Wild Soul [PEACH]

It's interesting. So you're meant to gain Momentum dice all the time then which means you'll get a lot of use out of them. Sounds strictly superior to Battlemaster for this reason. At 5th level you could theoretically use 2 per turn all combat long. 3 per turn at level 11. I guess if you use the...

Class Tiers and Character Builds in a Featless & Multiclassless game

IMO, Monks benefit most from a featless game without multiclassing. Just max Dex and Wis and they're pretty much awesome. Toss that 5th ASI in Con Barbarians, Paladins, and EK Fighters benefit a lot too. Fighters get a lot of hate here, but with 2 extra ASIs, they can afford to bump Wis once...

    Aasimar Bardbarian opinions

Hey thanks for answering. I don't really see this character being a big spell caster. That's why I was thinking about Cure Wounds plus a bunch of out of combat rituals. Cure Wounds can be refluffed as Divine rather than just casting it as a "spell." You bring up a good point about Heroism...

    Aasimar Bardbarian opinions

Yeah I wish I could play that 14 level character, but I've been told this group has never made it to level 14 and their campaigns usually stall out around level 10 or 11 in most cases. Taking a Bard level or more is pretty much giving up on ever seeing Barbarian 14. Still I feel like it fits too...

    Aasimar Bardbarian opinions

My only problem with this is an Aasimar Paladin is it's too obvious and stereotypical. I love the idea of unorthodox characters and a high Cha Barbarian face is a great example of that, and I have the stats to pull it off thanks to a ridiculous stat rolling method this group uses. Plus, I...

    Aasimar Bardbarian opinions

Thanks for the answers. I do know for sure that I want at least 5 if not 6 levels of Barbarian before I would consider taking anymore Bard levels. I like Monk, but not for this character. I love the idea of the beautiful woman going into a rage, an then that rage having a whole other level in...

    Aasimar Bardbarian opinions

For my next character I'm planning to play a Scourge Aasimar Barbarian but it's certainly not going to be your average Barbarian. This character is going to be a Barbarian first and foremost, but is also going to be the party face too. The idea is for her to be a beautiful woman that likes to...

    Let's Maximize the Sentinel Feat

I vote for Battlemaster/Rogue since you can pretty reliably use your Sneak Attack with your reaction every round. Sentinel + Riposte is very strong. Bonus points for using Shadowblade. A few years ago, I played in a one-shot where I was a Tempest Cleric with Warcaster, Magic Initiate for...

    Swapping Bard for Rogue

The party looks fine to me. The Bard can be a Bard and everything will be great. I don't see a lack of DPR in a group with Archer Fighter, Paladin, and Tempest Cleric. In fact, I'd say that's an extremely well balanced party. I would actually choose Bard over Rogue.

    Tempest or Life Cleric

Tempest will be infinitely more fun than Life. Tempest can just DO so many more things. Easy decision IMO. I agree that healing in a little bit over-rated in 5e. I mean SOMEBODY needs to be able to heal, but you never want to rely on it, and creating a character that's going to just be a heal...

Opinions on potential Lizardfolk Open Hand Monk build

Thanks for that. I thought that when presented with multiple AC calculations, you got to pick between the options. So basically you do NOT gain the Monk's unarmored defense at all by multiclassing into the class? I didn't realize that, but luckily this is not a big deal at all as it would only...

Opinions on potential Lizardfolk Open Hand Monk build

I've been wanting to play a Lizardfolk Monk for a long time, and have been waiting until I roll good stats to do so since it doesn't give a +2 to Dex, and now I have a chance. Stats are 18, 17, 16, 15, 13, 12. The DM has said I could turn the 12 into an 8 if I want to, and yes I think I may...

Opinions on potential Aasimar Barbarian build

Even though I'm still leaning toward Aasimar I do really like everything the Half-Elf has to offer. I really like Everybody's Friend too. It's perfect. With Half-Elf, technically I could start with 20 Str after free feat. I agree with most of what you're saying. Zealot or AG are a way better...

Opinions on potential Aasimar Barbarian build

I've been thinking about the idea of playing a beautiful woman Barbarian who would usually wear a dress and now I actually have the stats to pull it off so I'm seriously considering it for an upcoming character. Originally, I was going to be a Half-Elf and use the two free skills in some...

    Is the Barbarian overpowered?

Barbarians are too limited outside of combat to be considered overpowered. They get almost nothing for the other two pillars of the game. So yeah they're super awesome at hitting things with weapons and getting hit with weapons, but then they're sort of just there all the rest of the time.

    Is this a balanced party

Yes it's almost TOO balanced Seriously though you don't have to stress about party balance in 5e

Human variant archery fighter- did I lock myself into a subpar race?

I agree with all of this except trade crossbow and Crossbow Expert for longbow and Sharpshooter

Human variant archery fighter- did I lock myself into a subpar race?

Sharpshooter is a great starting feat because you can bump Dex to 18 at level 4 whereas taking it at level 4 leaves your Dex at 16.

    Wizard vs Cleric concentration item

If I were to build a character around an item that allowed concentration on two spells at a time, I think I would choose Cleric. Pretty much run Bless ALL the time along with another spell like Spirit Guardians or imagine running Bless and Bane at the same time lol. Sorcerer would probably be...
