While most people don't miss their cable bill, I think a lot of people miss actual cable. Browsing Netflix queues isn't the same as surfing channels.

Streaming is great when you want to watch something specific.. But I know I'm not the only person who has sat down wanting to watching something and not knowing what.. Browsing MAX or Netflix or something for 10 minutes, and then giving up.

Pluto is great when I just want to veg out but don't have something in mind. Throw it on and flip through the channels. There's been a few times where I hit a movie or show on Pluto.. Get into it, and google to see if it's on any of the streaming services I have lol
I work for the local cable company. I'll see myself out.

I don’t miss cable. At all. But hunting for content across different services is different than clicking through 1000 channels. I generally have an idea what I’m looking for though. YouTube is good for all purpose content.

Yes that does show them losing $286 million on streaming in the first 3 months of 2024 vs $511 million in the first 3 months of 2023 which is what I said where they’re still losing money but less of it.
Without a breakdown of expenses we don’t know if Paramount Plus or Pluto is losing more since they’re lumping everything together.

The box office thing makes me so sad, but I think we're really looking at cinema rolling it's death saving throws right now.
they have to figure out how to make movies at half the cost, expensive blockbusters are an anvil around your neck, not a way to make money

Furiosa cost $170M, make it for $75M and you are good to go. Godzilla Minus One was $15M…

Costs and wages are much lower in Japan than many other countries and it seems like they’re starting to have an issue with low wages like many other countries
