1/4 Mile Jump

I was wondering who had the 1/4 mile jump stats
The farthest I can come up with is 645 Feet
Monk 20
18 Base Strength
4 levels
10 Belt of Strength
Giving a +11 to Strength
+23 Jump Skill
+30 Ring of Jumping
+10 Boots of Springing and Striding
+2 Synergy Bonus
On a roll of 20
Gives us 96
Okay Run feat gives 1/4 more for distance
A monk movement rate is 180 so that is 6 times 30 so 6 times the jump give us 645

Am I missing something? This is all from memory

Make him a Half Orc and he would jump 652.5 Ft. After a 20 foot run. Am I missing something that doubles this?

I'm sorry, but you made a couple of mistakes in your bonus stacking

This has been discussed before, you should in every case take a lvl of barbarian, for +10 speed, and possibly some lvls of psionic warrior, for a couple of speed of thought spells.
 

Superleap! It's superfreaky!

I wrote this one for the racing contest on the General Forum a few days ago. I didn't get any critiques, so I'm not aware of any errors. I'm sure someone will point them out.

It's arranged for optimum conditions, of course. The character could've taken more Mental Leap, but he has to meet the Reserve prerequisites. While the original poster wasn't interested in psionics, this should at least give some pointers.

Nezumi, Psychic Warrior 20th
STR 18 (23 @ 20th), Wis 13

Skills: Jump 23 + 14 (STR - see below) + 10 competence (boots of S&S) +30 (ring) +2 (synergy from Tumble) = 79.
Use Psionic Device for scroll.
Tumble 5+ Ranks

Feats:
Run, Speed of Thought x2 [Reserve 5]
Mental Leap x 12 [Reserve = 91]

Base Speed: 40 (Nezumi) + 20 (Speed of Thought) + 10 (Burst) + 30 (Skate ... downhill) x2 for Boots of S&S = 200, x5 for Run, so a respectable 1000 while running. 2000 with Expeditious retreat.

Powers: Burst, Skate, Animal Affinity

Gear: Belt of Giant STR (+6), and something to get a +6 inherent STR bonus.
Ring of Jumping.
Boots of Striding & Springing

Manifest Animal Affinity (STR, maybe CON if you want better Endurance) before the race. This will boost STR by about 3; assume STR 26, 38 w/ all other Gear.

The character moves 400' (i.e., using all the above except the Run Feat)

Also assume a roll of '10' on the d20 for jumping distance, just for ease of calculation. The excess above 10 is 79, so that's a base 79 foot leap. Mental leap increases that by 2^12th power, or by x4096 = 323,584. The Run feat increases running jumps by x.25. Final leap distance (Average) is 404,480 feet in six seconds. (A maximum roll would yield 455,680 feet.) That's 45,963.63__ mph.

While the general idea is very good, many of the bonuses listed don't stack. I don't have my books with me at the moment but what comes to mind is

A)the bonuses provided by Boots of S&S and a Ring of Jump are both competence bonuses, they don't stack.

B)Boots of S&S provide the same bonus as Expeditious Retreat, no stacking

C)Animal Affinity doesn't stack with Belt of Giants Strength, your better off going with a 4x Empowered Bull's Strength.
 

didja READ mental leap? Are you aware of how multiples work in 3e? Evidently not.

From Mental Leap:
Special: You can take this feat multiple times. Each time increases your jump multiple by one and increases your prerequisite of reserve power points by +8.

So taking it 12 times means you actually jump 13 times as far, instead of 4096 times as far. Quite the difference there. Still good, but not ridiculous.
