1001 minor traits for magic swords

384) the Sparkling Arc: this blade does not glow, but when swung in an arc (as if in combat), it leaves an arc of tiny sparkling light composed of conjured, snowflake-like force constructs falling in the blade's wake. They fall to the ground at a rate of 1'/rd, and dissipate upon contact with anything solid. If they encounter something incorporeal, they stick to it, both illuminating it and doing 1 point of damage per swing.

The glow given off is equivalent to that of a candle.

385) The Blade of Lies: This sword appears to cause deep, gashing wounds but in truth all damage it causes is illusionary, causing non-lethal damage.

386) Snowflake: The wielder can have the sword grants a +20 bonus to one d20 roll. Thereafter, it is forever after a mere +1 sword. This ability can be recharged if the owner talks to and treats the sword with great care for 24 hours.

387) Violence: This red blade deals one point of Con damage with each hit.

388) Woe: This smoking black blade exudes a fetid stench when it's owner desires to cause malice. The stench causes those within arm's reach of the wielder to cough, choke and gag, giving them a -1 penalty to AC. The wielder is immune, but allies are not.

389) The Intangible Blade: The weapon is only solid when the wielder does not look at the blade. This probably means fighting with your eyes closed. The good news is that its damage is treated as force damage (i.e., works against incorporeal creatures).

391) The Pass Sword: once per day, this weapon can speak the password to gain entrance to a building or room, no matter how secret.

This is a divination and conjuration effect.

392) Embarrassing: when wielded in cold weather- below 60degF- a weapon with this trait will appear to be one size class smaller than it actually is.

This is an illusion effect, and does not affect damage or reach.

Special: if this weapon is also enchanted with cold magic, such as a Frost Blade, it will ALWAYS appear smaller than it is.

393) Once Bitten Twice Shy: This pearl-White Greatsword* confirms a critical hit on its first attack in every combat; if a critical is scored, however, the next two attacks are guaranteed fumbles.

This is a cursed weapon and requires the usual magics to show the sword's bias.

* lulz if you see what I did there.
