Scourge of the Howling Horde (some don't like the format, and many hated the horrible production values) & Faiths of Eberron (most comments seem to be the "anti-Eberron" crowd). We are now down to the last 10.

Vote for the product you think least deserves to be on the "WotC's best D&D products of 2006" list. I ask everyone to vote based on the product's virtues, rather than any side agendas (such as campaign world, cover artists, etc). This round only the top vote getter will be removed.

I'm voting for Twilight Tomb, The now. All reports I've heard say it's a poor or uninspiring adventure. That it made it to the final 10 is amazing.

Huzzah!

I voted for "The Twilight Tomb". Of the remaining products, excluding the ones I haven't read yet, this was the weakest, although I did quite enjoy it.

I voted on Expedition to Castle Ravenloft.

Sorry, but, they ruined Ravenloft completely when they made the Vistani into gypsie halflings. Whoever came up with that idea instead of just fleshing out the race in detail deserves to be slapped....seriously what were they thinking? Halflings? How and why do you just throw out the entire concept and vision of Vistani just like that?

I am highly surprised there wasn't a bigger outrage over this. :\

Also, I completely disliked the book destroying peoples' hopes. A lot of us thought Ravenloft would be returning as a 3E setting and it's clear that it's not. That's what we really want, not the first damn adventure redux for 3E.

Nah. I never liked the idea of the Vistani as a separate race. A separate culture, sure, but a race? I always just saw them as Gypsy-like humans. If Bruce and James want to make them Gypsy-like humans and halflings, well, it's not the way I'd have chosen to go, but I don't have a huge objection to it.

I thought the press releases were pretty clear from the get-go that this was a redux of the original adventure. If people chose to read into it, that Ravenloft was coming back as a setting, I'd say that's hardly the fault of the book. I'd love to see RL come back as a setting, too--it's one of my all time favorites--but I'm not going to blame a book for failing to produce something it never once promised to produce.

The hate for Castle Ranvenloft boggles my mind. Vistani isn't a race, it's a culture, as Ari said. A halfling Vistani is unexepected, yes, but not rediculous.

I'm happier to be seeing more classic adventure remakes than a RL campaign. I liked the idea of Ravenloft, just not as a campaign setting, per se.

PHBII hate is odd, as well. I keep hearing about the base classes. The book is far more than the base classes, and the rest of it sure makes up for it, I think.

How is Vistani not a race of humans? Illumians are, for example. They possess supernatural abilities and powers that I'm sure would give a Level Adjustment. Sure, they also have a different culture, all races and subraces do, but it definitely should've been kept to the original. A mysterious race of humans with mysterious ties to the Mists and supernatural abilities of Ravenloft.
