I am interested to hear why they went with Psychic Warrior.

It's a good move imho - it's easily the best-designed "psionic" class (Soulknife ain't bad, it's a bit overspecific though) - and fulfils a generally Jedi-esque "class fantasy"* that actually matches up with a pretty large number of fantasy warriors well beyond the Jedi. It was a little undertuned in previous version, but only a little. Hopefully they've pulled it up slightly to match stuff like the EK and Battlemaster.

(As an aside I gotta say I used to really underrate the EK - it is a very powerful subclass if you know what you're doing and a hilarious disaster if you don't.)

In the unlikely case anyone is wondering, the 4 subclasses for Fighter for 2024 are:

• Battle Master
• Champion
• Eldritch Knight
• Psi Warrior

* = Contrast this with the Assassin, which should do the same, but in both the 2014 and UA versions absolutely failed to match the "class fantasy" of "being a deadly sneaky assassin", which is a very common one thanks to a bunch of games and movies and so on. Hopefully they fixed that though.
