Hah! I knew something was up and that Tony had his own plans!

I think Jack was a little unfair to him, but on second thought - Jack was infected with a deadly disease and Tony strapped a bomb around him, and threatened his daughter! I guess Tony could have made a better plan, but he might have been a little blinded by his need for revenge.

It looks like for some the day isn't quite over.

So, did Jack basically have a "deathbed conversion"? ;) Was the political commentary implied by this too heavy-handed for others, or done just right?

Well this was a pretty good season. More crosses and double crosses than at a tic-tac-toe tournament, and though it sagged a bit after Jonah Hodges got blown to pieces, I enjoyed it. I guess the writers were aiming for pathos with the President losing her entire family, and it did sorta work.

Well I don't think he converted; guess the Muslim guy was the closest guy in reach. ;)

Jack didn't convert, He just wanted a man of god to give his deathbed confession/apology and was looking for that forgiveness so he could die in peace. All the horrible things hes done have truly weighed on him....horribly.....and he was looking for absolution.

How about the look that our favorite new FBI agent gave Kim when she revealed that she knew something about computers and worked at CTU? That was so long ago I almost forgot about it. I hope we see her again next year, I can see her and Jack having something together.

Yes, it was probably not a conversion. But I still think it is symbolic that he searches for absolution with a Muslim. ;)

The president losing her family was well done, I think. And it almost seems hinted at as there might eventually be something going on between and former/again with her Chief of Staff, perhaps? (They always seemed close, but they might still just be friends.)

Kim definitely did not suck in the finale. Well done, I think.

So, predictions about next year? Any more unconvincing hand-wringing about how "you can't torture, Jack"? Or can we get away from the pro-torture sermons and stick with people shooting each other? Y'know, decent, wholesome stuff?

By the way, Jack is the greatest marksman in the world. If he gets a moment to squint, he can shoot anyone anywhere. Like sparing Tony by popping his buddy right in the tendons that would keep him from grabbing a gun.

Not so much a prediction, but a thought that sort of occured to that I thought would be cool: the reinstitution of CTU with Jack in command. Main people would be Aaron, Jack, Agent Walker, and Chloe. Probably not gonna happen, but I still would like CTU to come back. People need to realize that the only reason they did so much this day was because a small group of ex-CTU agents and, in the end, the CTU computer system.

I'd love to see more scenes of Jack in a firefight. ;)

But all shooters in 24 seem to be very precise. Just look at the guy that was filming Kim and later caught by her. The PCs and villains, so to speak, are all deadly marksmen. The mooks... not so much.

I thought that was how you could tell whether or not it was a main/important/featured/key character --
if his aim is precise, then he is important.
if his aim is lacking then he is a background character or won't be on for more than the episode. :)
no?
