1 - Unfailing ressources is a free action and Daze doesn't prevent you from attacking since you are already in melee with the Golem. There is no reason not to attack, make your normal save and then use unfailing ressource only if you have failed and still want to get rid of the condition...
2 -...Except that in this case you have no incentive to get rid of Daze. Combat advantage doesn't stack; there is no rush to get rid of daze if you are about to perform an action that grants combat advantage

The Golem keeps mindlessly attack Dagran, trying to exploit the opening and successfully slams his meaty fist against Dagran's armor, staggering him but not scoring blood. Kendrick returns the favor and now the golem is hanging by a few threads of flesh
