Wow...

This episode expecially the first and last 10 minutes (including the mext episode teaser) IS WHY Ricky Schroder can never replace Jack Bauer. Not only is he clueless in how terrorists think (especially those with a cult like mentality), but he also has yet to prove to the audience that he could be truly heroic.

And it looks like who ever called out that Audry is alive and in Chinese hands was correct. We are yet to find out how Philip Bauer is involved (if he is involved).

Yeah, Phillip Bauer seems to be the only loose end not tied up with last night's show. Great Episode, kind-of like Season One where they wrapped most of the story up in Hour 13 and then did a restart with a new threat.

Last week I was losing faith in the show. This week it has been pretty much restored. Nice twists to the episode, and I am glad the hunt for the nukes is finally over and we can move the story on to more intriguing parts. My only nitpick with the episode was how incredibly fast CTU was able to assemble a team of middle-eastern men, brief them on the situation and cover story, and get them into place to "kidnap" Fayed. That quite obviously happened at the speed of plot.

I had wondered about the possibility of her being around still.

Of course, if Jack's father is involved, I'm wondering if next week's plot will involve the Chinese trying to use her as leverage to get Jack to take those nukes to the Chinese or back to Jack's dad or something. Of course, I'm not sure if even Jack would ever go that far.

It did occur to me that the guy who called Jack was the security official from the Chinese embassy. That could mean that Audry is actually in the U.S., in which case she can be rescued. Regardless, that security fellow is basically a walking corpse at this point. It's just a matter of time now..

Still a decent show, but it's getting rather predictable.

As soon as Jack got shot, I knew the cell was gov't agents.
As soon as they got the General on the phone, I knew he'd secretly let Fayed know what's up.
When they mentioned Audrey went looking for Jack a few shows back, I knew she'd been captured by the Chinese and it would likely be resolved this season.

The best thing about 24 was the true WTF moments in the first 3-4 seasons, even last season with the first show and then the bad guy president. But this season has been kinda disappointing with the see through plot twists and hard to believe plots.

Yes, it is obvious she is in the U.S. now. Jack was given a domestic number to call back, and from the previews for next week, Jack is going solo to get her back. Hard to do if she is in China. I know they mess with timing on this show occasionally (it never seems takes more than 20 minutes to drive around L.A. - absolute fiction), but I don't think they'll go so far as to get Jack to China in less than the time remaining in the day (season).

The guy from the Chinese embassy arrived with Jack in the US, if I am not mistaken, so he basically has to be still here (aside from the obvious plot reasons).

I think the show was still unpredictable - I didn't expect them to get the nukes know already, and thought more of yet another layer of terrorists that would continue the assaults. Instead, we get the Chinese back into the picture (though the moment the telephone ringed, I suspected it would be Audrey, and she needed help or had a important piece of information or both. Once we saw her the first time, I suspected the Chinese had here - it was the only logical conclusion, anyway - who else would hold a person that supposedly died in China some time ago? Certainly not some Muslim terrorists).

The final 10 minutes where a true Jack-Moment - going in single handedly and taking down all foes alone. And it was awesome as ever ;)

This was a good, solid episode that I was pretty happy with. I've heard the season wasn't doing so well numbers-wise (though I don't have any figures). If that's true, I can certainly see why. Up until now it's been going at a much slower pace. Worst of all, Jack has seen a pretty poor amount of screen time. I was glad to see some good writing and old-fashioned ass-kicking. And best of all, mostly Jack.

I don't see myself sticking with the show if they drop Jack Bauer at some point. I like the other characters and all, but Kiefer Sutherland is the main attraction.

It'd be like killing Walker and replacing him with some other Texas Ranger.
