2600 joystick game

Kilmore

First Post
Strolling through the Wal-Mart today, I was surprised to see a blister wrapped Atari 2600 joystick. Apparently, the joystick contains 10 old games including Asteroids, Centipede, Yar's Revenge (yay!!), and significantly for this forum, Adventure. The joystick plugs straight into the TV without any sort of console needed, and the games look just like the classics.

Does anyone have experience with this thing, and more importantly, is there more stuff to play on Adventure?

Suddenly I feel old. I remembered having played those games on my 2600 System. In fact, I may have a pair of those old joysticks in storage. The internal plastic assemblies have been worn and cracked since me and my friend repeatedly played One-on-One: Bird vs. Jordan game. :(

BTW, I think CapCom is also following Atari's trend by offering an arcade joystick full of classic arcade games for home entertainment.

My bad. I don't know why I uttered "Capcom." It was Namco that I saw, the one with Pac-Man.

Now I'm feeling a bit more older. I remembered have a video arcade hall in my hometown. Of course it was short-lived, but I love playing that climbing game that uses two joystick controls.

Remember the original Pitfall?
or the original spy hunter?

What about the coleco?

Um yes.

I remember my folks paying a hundred bucks or so for one of the early Pong games for the TV.

Ah sweet technology.

I have one of them, and I must say I forgot how frustrating Adventure could be! I actually bought it solely for that game. It's pretty neat, but the controls are a little stiff, like they were in the old days.

Ah, yes, but do you remember what the Atari system was called before they changed it to "2600"?

For the record, I don't recall anymore, but I do remember being ticked about the name change, since it took me a bit to figure out that the 2600 games were the same as what played on my system.
