3.0/3.5 Rules Changes FAQ? (Re: Alignments & Damage Reduction)

Hello everyone...

I'm sure this is really, really, really old news, but... does there exist anywhere a page-by-page breakdown of all the changes between 3.0 and 3.5 core rulebooks? Assuming that such a thing is possible.

I'm running a campaign right now, basically using 3.5... BUT... my campaign takes place in an alignment-less setting, so the change in damage reduction from +1-+5 based to alignment-based is really pissing me off, and I'm having to go back and change a lot of the monsters and a few of the spells.

The old "plus-based" damage reduction works perfectly for me, and makes perfect sense... "Sorry, your +1 magic sword that the local wizard made isn't good enough to damage the demon... you have to go get the REALLY magical rare +3 sword said to be buried at the bottom of that dungeon over there... oh, but even THAT sword isn't as potent as the almighty, near-legendary +5 sword that the gods hid on the top of the tallest mountain in the world..." etc.

As far as the alignments, I can see the appropriateness of alignments for most fantasy worlds, but I'm trying to do a setting approximating ancient history, and the more history I read, the more I'm awed by the general treacherousness, backstabbing and overall moral ambiguity of everything that human beings have ever done. Therefore, I'm ditching the alignments in my campaign.

Does anyone have a rundown of all the assorted changes, particularly to the Monster Manual...?

Thanks,

Jason

So, what you're saying is that we're all Evil? ;)

Well, specifically, my campaign is set in ancient Rome & Egypt (all magicked-up, of course)... and both countries have such corrupt and sneaky leadership and have done so many screwed-up and devious things in their politics that I can't possibly imagine doing it with alignments.

Otherwise, as soon as any kind of diplomacy starts, it'd just be like "Okay, let's Detect Evil... Aha! You and you and you! Leave the room!" ;)

The other option would be to make "Undetectable Alignment"-type magic more easily available... but ditching alignments seemed easier...
