Crucible of Freya and the free downloads from Necromancer Games
The Grey Citadel from Necromancer Games
Tomb of Abysthor from Necromancer Games ( I smell a trend developing)
The Vault of Larin Karr from Necromancer Games
Nemorin's Vault from Fiery Dragon
Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil
The Banewarrens from Malhavoc
I can get behind most of these selections, but I'd like to comment on the 2 of the above-listed modules that I actually ran.
The Crucible of Freya is allegedly designed for 1st level characters, but if run as written, it will get them all killed.
NeMoren's Vault is much better in that regard. The challenges are much more reasonable. My players had fun in this module. However, if your players are willing to look hard, they will find *way* too much treasure than a group of beginning characters should reasonably have.
(BTW, both of the previous modules have web enhancements that provide even greater value for the purchase!)
Another adventure to add to the list of 3.0 classics is "Of Sound Mind". It assumes the use of 3.0 psionics, but it's also a low-level adventure, so it wouldn't be hard to trade out 3.5 versions if you wanted to. My players had a blast in this module. If the characters make dumb choices, they will get killed. But if they play smart, it's a well-designed adventure all the way around (and quite memorable as well).
