Modified.

Two groups play 3.0 with a few 3.5 additions.

One group plays AU with some substantial house rules but we fall back on 3.5 rulings on combat topics like grappling and so forth when we need clarification.

The quote above says it all for our group. We probably will play 3.5 when two of us get work. Being laid-off since July of last year has put a serious crimp in my RPG spending, like $0 :(

You can play 3.5 right now. Just click on the DnD SRD link in my sig and dowload the rules. If you have a close friend maybe they will print these documents for you out of the kindness of their heart.

I myself have been jobless since June of '03. However I preordered the 3.5 books on Amazon, so I lucked out there. Anyway, there are ways of making money on the side. Try pet or house sitting, offering your services for cleaning or anything else you can think of.

It's not much, but an elderly woman pays me ten dollars a week to change her cats pan, and take her garbage to the curb.

Luckily, I live with my parents and because I don't own a car or use a cell phone I have no financial obligations.

Good Luck with your jobhunting!

As of yesterday I have a good reason to buy the 3.5 PH, I realized that the spine on my 3.0 is split to about halfway down. My DMG and MM looks to be in fine shape though. (both 3.0)

I bought the core gift set for 40% the price from amazon, that and the quality of many chanegs amde my deal, I play 3.5 with a few modifications, that is, until I got my hands on the latest book... UA ;)

Anyway, we play Midnight right now, so that may fit the not so few modifications, tat are standard on it...

I like 3rd eidtion of AD&D better than any previous, mostly because of the inherent freedom, although that is not entirely true. Previous editions are all great games too, that is because it sems a whole new game everytime they make a new edition, it is not like a book, much closer to a remake of a movie, in my opinion. ;)

I hatew the 3.5 weapons rules, sticked with 3.0 on that one. ;)

Both of the games I run are 3.5. I've yet to decide if anything from Unearthed Arcana will make its way into my game, so we run pretty much stock. We do use a variant action dice system ala Spycraft, which I may ditch in favor of the action points mechaninc in Unearthed Arcana.

I play in a homebrew game that is a modified 3.5 d20, though after playing All Flesh Must Be Eaten, we may take that campaign out of d20 alltogether, unless d20 Conan has enough of a feel to it to make us stay in the realm of the icosahedron.

I voted for 3.5 since that is pretty much what we're playing ATM, but we still use classes from OA as well as modified classes from Diablo 2 and Everquest as well. I like the changes made and don't plan on playing anything else...except until maybe 3.75 or 4.0!!! (Hopefully not for a LOOOOOOOONG time!)

3.0 because I don't change mid-campaign

The Dnd Group I DM for is run using 3.0. It started out as such and even though I like a lot of stuff in 3.5 (and it's cleaned up in many ways) I won't switch mid-campaign

- my players are beginners ( at least with regards to 3.0) so I'll let them become
comfortable with 3.0, I don't want to confuse them with switching to 3.5
- it would take some work to update the campaign to 3.5 (I prefer to spend my
free time gaming, prep work is not a burden but would be if I need actra time
to double check rules issues and adapt sll kinds of stuff.
- even if item 1 & 2 were not an issue, I would never switch system mid-game
(or impose extra major house-rules)
