We had a lot of reasons for staying with 3.0e. It had a lot to do with the facing and size changes in 3.5, some of the spells, cost of replacing all those books, relearning a new system (not new- just different), and the feeling that 3.5e had been a lie.
I was lead to believe that 3.5 was just a fix, when I started looking into I felt that it was a big change, that it wasn't a fix at all but a way to make money, and I am sure that in a few years 4.0e will be coming out to fix all the problems with 3.5e.
We have a lot of house rules- our own Ranger, Saves on spells like Harm, some addeds to spell casters (stat mod adds to daily aloted spells), and a bunch of other things like that.
I understand that a lot of people like 3.5e and that a lot like 3.0 and a lot created their own to that I say- to each their own. Use what you like. Thanks for kicking in your 2 copper. Its cool to know everyone seems to have done what we did- little changes to make what we like better.
