3.5 – Sentinels of Evermere [FULL]

Ah, Thanee,

wasn't there a slight stipulation regarding background like:

"I’ll hope to receive a good back-story for each PC, but please don’t post this back-story with your character stats. The PC’s will be a newly-formed team and a little bit of mystery is a good thing. Your back-story should be revealed naturally to the other PC’s through your actions and dialogue. A simple description of your character will suffice for now."

This character looks great. At first glance, the only thing I see is that she's carrying a good chunk of coin. This would fit your write-up, I think--especially since she just returned from the human lands. However, I just want to warn you that she won't have much of an oppotunity to spend her coin among the elves, since they subsist on bartering. If you want to exchange some or all of that coin now for any additional items (i.e. maybe a minor potion or two) or some valuables that you can barter, it would be fine by me.

Anyway, thanks much for the write-up. Nicely done. I appreciate that you obviously took the time to read through the stuff on the web site.

Yep, I mailed mackenson yesterday and he agreed, that her background would be known, as she is a fairly special case in the elven community.

And nowhere does it say, that this is the complete background! ;)

Well, there was that stipulation....;) However, based on Thanee's background she's probably a bit of a well-known personality among the elves, so I don't particularly object to having it here.

Basically, if everyone wants to post their basic background and description with your PC that's fine. However, if you've got any secrets you'd like to keep, or any interesting hooks in your past that wouldn't necessarily be common knowledge, just send me the details on that via email. This group will be essentially strangers at the start of the campaign, and I think it's interesting to see the personalities and backgrounds come out naturally via dialogue, actions and campaign events.

But, maybe it's just me ... let me know what you guys think, as I don't want to rule this game with an iron fist ;)

Yeah, I don't have any clue on what to spend that! :)

Thought about a horse, but how useful would that be inside of a forest. ;)

Yep, will probably do that, once I find something suiteable.

I didn't get magic items, as I wasn't sure that we may do so. Might just spend it on a couple healing potions or how about a (used, 14~15 charges left) wand of cure light wounds (could be pretty useful with no other healer around). *shrugs*

My campaigns are generally fairly low-magic in terms of what's available for purchase and what kind of stuff is lying around or carried by NPC's. However, my assumption is that there will be elves in Evermere who are skilled alchemists, so minor potions such as healing potions might be relatively common in comparison to wands, staves, etc.

So, you can feel free to spend your surplus on a potion of cure light wounds or two. In general, some of the stuff you start with is assumed to be granted to you by the Sentinels.

Ok. Will get 2 potions and an everburning torch then, I think (just noticed that some permanent light source might be handy).

As for the reason, why the elves called her (besides her being a trusted ally, of course), I suppose that people with the magical power to heal are not really common among the elves (sure there are some clerics and also druids, but they should be pretty rare all in all). The composition of the group also fits this reasoning pretty well (now without bard and cleric ;)).

Sorry for the tone of my post!

I had meant for it to be a good-natured reminder, but unfortunately it came out somewhat Gestapo-like. (Well, it's been a long night [and morning].:D)

BTW, what makes you think I want to know anything at all about that pesky human, just because some idiot put her into my squad? ;)

Sounds good. Just noticed that you have profession: herbalist, so you could also exchange your coin 1-for-1 for a selection of rare herbs of equal value (you could just itemize these as so many gp worth of herbs). These would be a good barter item.

Sounds good. Someone also may have had alterior motives. You never know ;)

No worries. I don't think anyone took offense.
