"3.5" doesn't make sense...

Maybe I should write my own version of the classic adventure: Orc and Pi. The adventurer's would have to make a Will Save or die while listening to the orc recite pi.:D

Dragon 304 (February 2003) has "Get Ready D&D 3.5" on its cover, FWIW. :D
 




Actually, compared to some (maybe even most) other RPG products, the changes from 3 to 3.5 are worthy of a full new edition. It's just that D&D's edition changes are generally so drastic. The 3.5 name is somewhat computer-y, but the truth is that in book printings, anything more than the most minor edits generally constitutes a new edition.

And, as the original poster said, we're missing several other point releases before 3.5. But oh well. The name seems to be sticking.
