Sounds like you're using a pdf with forms, and I've had no luck in finding one like that yet. What I've been doing is printing the default WOTC one and filling out my info by hand.

The best fillable character sheet I have found is at Mad Irishman's.

Thanks for doing this, this is much more pleasant to read.

One thing though, I believe that even for a straight reformatting of the SRD, you should have a copy of the OGL in the individual files. If I remember correctly, when the modern SRD was compiled into a PDF, Andy from WotC came by and confirmed that it was alright since it was there.

As reveal guessed, I'm using the Mad Irishman's sheet. It's very nice - it will automatically calculate a lot of values for you. I just wish I could get it to print with the numbers right-side-up
