[3.5] Quarterstaff (Andy Collins tidbit)

I love it when a post comes together... :D

Along some similarly-interest lines, I belive that Art "NeghVar" Braune is putting together some interesting new work to come out under his "Skullduggery Press" imprint that would be of interest to some folks who love the quarterstaff and other such weapons. I'll see if I can risk poking the bear and ask him to drop in and make mention of this new project... :)

On a less farcical note (not that I'm complaining), I'd imagine that the removal of the Ambidexterity feat will make quarterstaff a much more popular weapon in 3.5. I know I toyed with the idea for my acrobat, but decided that two feats was way too costly. For a single feat, I'm sure I would have taken it.

In my campaign, I had a house rule feat that allowed a character to gain the benefits of both Ambidexterity and TWF for the quarterstaff only.

OUCH!!!!

Hey that hurt...be careful with that quarterstaff Mark!

Not sure if I should let the cat out of the bag quite yet...

We are working on quite a few crunchy ideas here at Skullduggery Press that expand upon these concepts. If some of you recall I posted "Stout" weapons here several months ago. "Stout" weapons expands the concept of "Keen" weapons and applied it to bludgeoning weapons (ala quarterstaffs). It included rules for both d20 fantasy and d20 modern. This is a trend we will be continuing to run with - presenting rules for both settings.

The first "product" (still untitled) will be more or less of a "sampler" of things to come from Skullduggery Press and will be chock full of the crunchy bits that we all enjoy.

Anyway - let's get back to your regularly scheduled thread...but keep your eyes on www.skullduggerypress.com for further developments!

Thanks!

But the real question is, how will this affect the popular board pastime of beating Hong with a stick?

We'll be able to do it twice as much? (suddenly this became my favorite 3.5 rule :D)
