3.5e Planescape - Cold Black Mask OOC Thread

Same for me. Well the one other one I was in before this one fell apart at least. Quite quickly too. The DM vanished after saying he'd need to slow down posting for a while. :\

I'm glad this one is still going because it's great!

I'd love to see what kind of character you come with Shayuri.

Mew...thanks!

Um...it seems there's been some shuffling, and this thread has gotten big. Any chance I could just get a very quick name/class/race summary of existing characters? Along, perhaps, with a note about who is planar, and who is prime?

I'm assuming any newly added character would have to be planar. :)

Primes:
Sindr Mogh, Chaotic-with-a-capital-C tiefling evoker (specializing in electricity and sonic spells - the flashier, the better)
Heinrich, strong-but-silent-ish human cleric/ordained champion
Istvan, crazy-acrobatic-"He's running up the walls again" gnome scout/psychic warrior

Planars:
Pierce, "Oh my god it's full of spikes" spiker fighter
Anthony, information-broker/tout aasimar beguiler

The RG is here if you want more specific info. Cang Lao is the character being replaced.

Hope that helps :)

You do know that lizards don't go 'mew' right? :p

Here's a link to the RG thread. I have links to all the pertinent thread for all the games I'm playing or running in my signature.

I'm playing Anthony Orchidaceae, a Aasimar from a top shelf family who ran away from home when he was young and was taken under the wing of a human girl when she found him wandering around the Hive Ward. He a Beguiler, Tout, and information broker.

There's also Pierce, a spiker from Acheron who just recently came to Sigil.

Then there's a quartet of Clueless. Istvan, a whisper gnome that I can't remember the class of but it's really weird in a bassass sort of way. The kind you want to meet that Tiefling from the WoTC cartoon. :D Heinrich whom I haven't really seen much fancyness from. I think he's a cleric, or a fighter or something. There's Cinder who has a weird accent... sometimes. I think he casts spells. Then there's their NPC friend Hagan who has some weird compulsion on him thanks to infernal clerics or something. He's a wizard I think. They ended up in Sigil when they went looking for him at the request of his distraught wife or something.

Hope that helps.

Edit: Aww, Zurai beat me to it. I bet you linked from my sig though right? RIGHT?!
Edit again: BTW, the human who helped Anthony does not actually have a wing.

Shayuri: Planar would be good. DireLemming and Zurai have it right.

In terms of party roles, Scurry's thinking about making a warlock character, I believe, which means that this group's packing a good amount of magicky firepower when added to Sindr.

Pierce is the primary frontline fighter with Heinrich making pretty solid backup.

Istvan is going for the "was that rush of wind just the breeze, or was it me?" sort of character.

Since it looks like most of the niches are filled with duos except for Istvan and Anthony, you may want to make a sneaky-and/or-talky-type character -- but don't feel backed into a corner with that. ;)

Anthony fills the solving his own problems by shoving them off on the rest of the party niche.

"Oh, you bloods are threatening my friends because you're looking for those primes? Sure I'll tell you where they are. You should go and pick a fight with them, yeah, they're pushovers the lot of em. Have fun! Berks."

Scurry: After reading through the game so far, do you have any preference as to how to start off?
Is "something that makes my guy look utterly badass" an acceptable answer? :D
More seriously, I'm cool with whatever makes your job easiest, but I'll throw out a few ideas, in the hopes that one's helpful: I'd like to meet up with the main party sooner rather than later, and as I said before, I find byzantine evil outsider politics an appealing vise for characters to get stuck in. Maybe the guy has one last (last one, we promise!) deed to do before he gets emancipation from the powers he made a foolhardy contract with in his youth?

As an aside, as a high charisma character with bluff on the skill list, the warlock will be a pretty decent second talky character, I think. I'll try to work up a revised sheet today, if not today it'll definitely be done tomorrow.

Aw, but Shayuri's talky character in Zurai's game is absolutely hilarious. Oh well, I suppose we wouldn't want to risk making Erin less appreciable because of another character like her... or something.

A seven player group? That's getting to be a bit unwieldy IMO. :\

What we're lacking, as I see it, is a ranged striker; we've got no one to deal with ranged combat support. A warlock would be good for that.

And with seven (or eight counting Hagen) people in the group, we're really going to need a second healer-buffer to share the burden with poor Heinrich. A bard could make a good buffer/healer/face/know-it-all character for this group.

We also have no one to deal with mechanical problems like traps and locks. That may or may not be a concern depending whether the group starts hitting any dungeon environments.

Thanks everyone!

I just want to reiterate, I'm not out to cramp the game or anyone's style. I can definitely see how seven PC's is a lot. I won't take it at all amiss if you guys want me to wait as an alternate.
