4e Battle of Good vs. Evil: Ice Archon & Co. vs. Eye Of Flame & Co.

Round 42: Slim has 25 hp, bloodied. He resets second wind. Gertrude has 96 hp, full. Fred has -14 hp, poisoned.

Moon Zappa, the angel of Val-hor, appears at 90N75E, flies up to 90N70E20Z, and lets loose with a lightning strike on Spiny, using an AP. 14+10 vs. Fort, hit. Spiny takes 17 lightning damage, teleporting him out.

OOC: There is a typo on the Angel of Valor stat block, see the link to the orc raider for reference. She has some form of TWF and attacks with both longsword and dagger with her melee attacks.

Gertrude steps west and attacks, 5+10+2+2 for expert flanking, hit. Brutus takes 6 damage.

Slim does not recharge (3). He attacks, then steps back to 65N35E. 5+11+2, hit for 6 damage. Brutus has 1 hp!

Fred is still poisoned (4), but hangs on (15).

You'll have to bring in reinforcements before Brutus dies from bleeding and is teleported out.

OOC: That's a side effect of that immediate teleporting rule. If both combatants were sent into negatives, I wouldn't even have a chance to bring in reinforcements. Remember that I have only two combatants now (btw, I shouldn't have an option for 3 defeated creatures). After Brutus dies, I want to introduce a new bad guy, so can you update the if one creature defeated after I have a warlock enter, so I can introduce my second badguy before your turn? I assume that I can have one enter before your turn.

Bad Guys:
Julian Sands (tiefling warlock, AP, SW): 40hp, full
Brutus (gnoll marauder, ex-leader): irrelevant, dies
Alvin Valkenheiser (bugbear headreaver, SW): 62hp, full
Bono (gnoll demonscourge, AP, SW, leader): 106hp!!

Julian Sands the tiefling warlock appears at 65n105e and targets Gertrude with a soul blast, 9+9+2 (heretic's fury) vs Fort for 6 necrotic. He uses curse of the lurking serpent (minor) against Moon Zappa 5+9+2 vs. Will, 9 poison damage if Moon Zappa ends his turn closer to Julian (save ends).

Brutus dies and is teleported out.

106-year-old shire reeve Alvin Valkenheiser the bugbear headreaver appears at 65n30e and tries to chop Slim in half, 12+12 for 19 hp. He uses an AP to try again, 5+12 misses!

Bono the gnoll demonscourge and new leader enters the fray at 65n55e and swings his heavy flail, 11+13 hit for 7 damage (snake eyes!).

OOC: I think I miscommunicated when I said that Daclaw could not be reinforced because he lost due to VZ rules. That was a one-time thing to even the forces back to three apiece.

You can add the tiefling warlock or use the option for two creatures, then Brutus can die, then you can add the tiefling warlock and declare him the leader or add two creatures and declare one of them the leader.

OOC: Okay, I've updated Evil's actions. They look scarier than they are. I don't really expect them to defeat Good.

OOC2: PJS, have fun Googling the names of the warlock and bugreaver. :)

OOC: Julian should have gotten +2 damage for heretic's fury, so 8 necrotic damage vs. Gertrude. Gertrude resists Bono's damage.

Any attacks against Moon get a -2 until she's bloodied, and 5+9+2-2 does not beat Moon's 21 Will. If the roll was 15 instead of 5, then Moon should take 9+2 damage now and take 5 every turn that she ends up closer to Julian.

Round 43: Slim has 6 hp, bloodied. Gertrude has 88 hp. Fred has -19 hp, poisoned. Moon has 57 or 46 hp, maybe poisoned.

Moon does not recharge (4). She moves to 85N50E20Z and tries to revive Fred. 16+5, does it! Fred takes his second wind has 16 hp. Moon makes her save if needed (13).

Gertrude slugs it out with Bono, 18+10, hit. Bono takes 8 damage and bleeds for another 5.

Slim does not recharge (5). He takes a second wind, bringing him to 19 hp. Then he teleports to 50N50E and becomes insubstantial.

Fred takes 5 poison damage, 11 hp. He stands up and waits to make his save. He is no longer poisoned (12).

Slim: 19 hp, bloodied.
Gertrude: 88 hp.
Fred: 11 hp, bloodied.
Moon: 57 or 46 hp.

OOC: So, bleeding and other ongoing damage damages you twice before your turn? That seems wrong somehow. I mean, you take it when hit and then before your turn, right?

Bad Guys:
Julian Sands (tiefling warlock, SW): 40hp, full
Alvin Valkenheiser (bugbear headreaver, SW): 62hp, full
Bono (gnoll demonscourge, SW, leader): 88/106hp, injured, bleeding (twice)

Julian Sands curse does not recharge (4). He moves to 65n80e and targets Gertrude again with another soul blast (17+9+1 for Bono leader of the pack) for 11 necrotic damage. He uses an AP to do it again, 19+9+1 for 13 damage! Julian is on a roll...look out.

Alvin Valkenheiser charges Gertrude, 6+12+1+2+1 (charging/CA/leader), hit for 14 damage (Gertrude takes 4 and is at 60). Alvin is at 65n45e.

Bono swings heavy at Gertrude, 8+13+2 hits for 15 total (resist no longer applies).

Gertrude is now bloodied so Alvin gets an immediate attack on Gertrude, 4+12+2+1 just hits, for another 17 damage.

Bono (turn not over) decides to capitalize as well, using an AP and swings again, 11+13+2 hits for another 12 (including bloodied damage).

Gertrude can't be liking this turn of events, with the entire forces of Evil focusing on her.

OOC: Yeah, that doesn't sound right. Ongoing damage does not add to the initial hit. Give Bono 5 hp back. Bono didn't take his save last round to end the bleeding.

Round 44: Slim has 19 hp, bloodied. Gertrude has 16 hp, very bloody. Fred has 11 hp, bloodied. Moon has 57 hp, full.

Moon does not recharge (3). She uses a minor action to turn her blades into lightning so they target Reflex, then flies down to 65N60E0Z. TWF attack on Bono.
Sword: 1+16+2 vs. Reflex, hit! 10 lightning damage.
Dagger: 10+15+2 vs. Reflex, hit. Max damage, 7 lightning.

Gertrude takes a second wind, bringing her up to 40 hp. She takes an AP to attack Bono, 16+10+2+2 for expert flanking, hit. Bono takes 8 damage and is bleeding again if he made his save last round. He should have 68 hp at this point.

Slim does not recharge (4). He becomes substantial, steps to 55N55E, and attacks Bono. 5+11, miss.

Fred has two move actions because he is bloodied. He moves to 90N60E20Z, then flies down to 70N85E5Z. Two claws on Julian with +2 due to death frenzy.
Claw 1: 10+12+2, hit. 13 damage.
Claw 2: 6+12+2, hit. 15 damage.

Bono failed to save last round (7).

Bad Guys:
Julian Sands (tiefling warlock): 22hp, injured, +2 on defense due to SW
Alvin Valkenheiser (bugbear headreaver, SW): 62hp, full
Bono (gnoll demonscourge, SW, leader): 63/106hp, injured, bleeding

Julian Sands curse does not recharge (4, again). He takes a second wind, healing up to 22hp, and then takes a diabolic escape route to 90n105e (he becomes invisible as he teleports away, so gfl finding him).

Alvin Valkenheiser slashes Gertrude with his greataxe, 15+12+2+1 hits for 21 (I used PJS's d20's instead of d10's, I hope that's okay) damage (Gertrude takes 11).

Bono takes his bleeding damage like a man and then also swings at Gertrude, 9+13+2 hits for 4+7 damage (the grick is at 18, which is still way ahead of the 3.5e grick, hoo boy). He fails his save and is still bleeding (8).

Round 44: Slim has 19 hp, bloodied. Gertrude has 18 hp, bloodied. Fred has 11 hp, bloodied. Moon has 57 hp, full.

Moon does not recharge (3). She turns her blades to lightning and stikes again.
Sword: 1+16+2 vs. Reflex, hit again with a 1! 6 lightning damage.
Dagger: 7+15+2 vs. Reflex, hit. 5 lightning damage.

Gertude attacks Alvin to get him bleeding, 5+10, miss. So much for that strategy. She shifts to 60N55E.

Slim does not recharge (4). He steps to 60N50E and attacks Bono. 1+11, miss.

Fred flies to 70N60E and lands to flank Bono. Double claw attack.
Claw 1: 2+12+2+2, miss!
Claw 2: 3+12+2+2, miss! He will shift back to 75N65E.

That was the worst rolling I have ever seen.
