Wow ... that's about all I have to say about Anostor's display there. I'm severely impressed. Wow.

How many of the knowledge checks in the first combat post did we hit? I only hit Nature DC 25, so I'm wondering how much of that info is going to be available to us later.

I only got Religion up to 30(there was a 35 sblock too). It was general monster knowledge.

Oh, and, thanks I guess. It could have been more, actually, I hoped in at least one crit, but heh! And that's also why I opted for no Bloodclaw. 90 more damage on top of that would've been... gravy.

Oni, thanks for the pointer about the errata on multi-type damage. That's a big change, and I'd missed it completely. It makes multi-type damage much stronger. I may or may not go back and fix this fight, but I'll definitely use the new version going fowards.

One lich down, but barely. He had 392 HP, and had taken a total of 398 damage after Anostor's smackdown. I'm only slightly frightened by that; you took down a level 21 elite in 1 round, but you had to cooperate well and work fairly hard to do it. And he was a controller, not really a front line type. Still, it underscores the fact that it's going to be difficult to challenge this party.

That's a relief. I'm sure nobody had any intentions of making "cheap" characters. Also I hope that the fact that challenging us will be harder will make it more funny for you too, cov!

Yeah, it was a controller. I was a little surprised when it charged in like that, but then I doubt it anticipated Orelal cutting off all of its reinforcements. Plus, we burnt 3 action points, a daily, and two encounter powers to do it. Now, if we took down the goristro in one round, then i'd be frightened

Also, Sarenax no longer has ongoing damage, right?

The Goristro in one round? ...uhmm... no, I don't think. Two rounds, now, that might be reasonable. Anostor can pull off tha Storm of Blades once more this encounter!
But, how do we intend to proceed? It's hard for the melee guys to reach the enemies... shall we let that Evard's Tentacles down? Anostor is eager to meet the Goristro close...

By the way, cov, is the Cambion a male or female?

I'm glad it was by such a small margin, Anostor did so much damage that I thought I might have wasted my action attacking the lich.

This was what I was talking about when I said Ata's barb had more burst than Kylek.

Well, if we wanted this to be easy, I'd say we just move around the edges of the tentacles and pick off the two riders and the cambion, one at a time, then get to the goristro if he's still stuck. If we wanted a challenge, letting down Evard's Tentacles would certainly be a start Sarenax doesn't really care, as long as they all end up dead

We may also have to hunt down that lich's phylactery so we can kill him for good, otherwise I think he'll keep coming after us. That would probably take a couple creative uses of rituals to figure out where it is, and then who knows how tough the lich's fortifications are. We probably want to head to Zvomarana first, though we could spend some time finding the lich's phylactery after the fight when there's no distractions, just so we know for later.
