Ecellent vote! Exactly the kind of detail I am most interested in - I hope you'll get lots of votes :)

I voted 'I own 4E books and read them, but didn't have the opportunity yet to play a game.'.
Between running a 3.5 campaign that will take at least another year to finish and playing in an Earthdawn group and a DSA campaign, I don't really have enough spare time for another campaign. However, if an opportunity presented itself for a one-shot, I'd immediately give it a try.

I don't expect to get such an opportunity before all of the core books are available in German, though. As of September 1st at least the PHB should be available, the other two should follow before the end of the year...

I voted "I own 4E books, but have only played a one-shot or a few test sessions."

I liked it, but my group didn't. Maybe I'll get them to try it again at a later time, but for now I won't be playing much 4e.

I've read the books, don't own them, don't know any other gamers locally who own them, and I'm not at all keen on running or playing 4e. Would play, in theory, should anyone pick up the books and want to run it. Not likely to actually happen in reality, but you never know. So, I *might* one day end up playing a session, or more perhaps. *Highly* unlikely, though. Just thought I'd add that in anyway, because when it comes down to it, my fellow gamers are inestimably more important to me than the differences between games or editions of any game.

"I don't have the 4E books, but we have started a campaign or played a one-shot/test session."

While my group has enjoyed the sessions of KotS I've been running them through we decided the game isn't what we're looking for in an RPG. The main issue that led to that decision was the focus on tactical combat that seems to have dictated the majority of the design.

My group was planning to drop 3E at the conclusion of our current campaign in favour of an older edition or another system. Looking back I think that 3E choked the life out of our game and we should have abandoned it a long time ago. We've been talking about running a game with 1E or OD&D and that's rekindling interest in a way I haven't seen for a long time, probably since the release of 3E.

Bought the 3 core books, tried the game a few times, pretty much strongly hate it.

Between the powers, which become boring and repetitive very quickly, the emphasis on forcing your opponent to move, the fact that the core books lack much of what was in the 3.5 core books (classes, races, magic items, spells), all the unused white space, the uninspired graphical design, and the large font led me to the conclusion that this is not D&D for me; it's like some kind of stripped down indie version of D&D. My players agreed with my assessment and we're currently testing out the Pathfinder beta. So far the Pathfinder experience has been positive.

tried for a few sessions - unlikely to play it again - thank The Internets i didn't buy the books! :D

I haven't had much time to play lately but 4e would be my last choice.

I was burned out on 3e, but despite a few improvements 4e is clearly not the follow-up I expected. It's far too gamist/abstract for my taste and would take too many houserules and supplements to make it work for me.

I’ve bought many rpg books i knew I would not use over the years, just for the art and inspiration. But despite a few good pieces, the 4e art direction is not my thing either. The monsters in particular are just too ugly, cartoony and generally uninspired.

Maybe 5e will bring me back to dnd in a few years if I don’t feel too old for that by then.

I don't own the 4E books. I have no intention of ever owning the 4E books.

This isn't my D&D. Heck, I don't even consider it to *be* D&D.

Since getting the 4e books I haven't even picked up any of my other D&D books except for my AD&D MM, MM2 and Fiend Folio (looking for cool monsters to convert to 4e). I am currently running one 4e game and hopefully (this weekend) playing in a second. As far as I am concerned, 4e is the best D&D to come along in over two decades.
