I was voting instead of going to class! I was in a hurry!

Instead of going to class?! You could have voted later instead of sacrificing education!

Ecellent vote! Exactly the kind of detail I am most interested in - I hope you'll get lots of votes
I found it always interested to read how many people did or didn't like/run 4E, and wanted to see how much experience they got with it so far. I also wanted to know how many people have even been able to start a new campaign in this context. In my group, adaptation was faster then I anticipated, but I can see people with long-running campaigns having trouble just switching to a new edition and a new campaign.

Some observations from the current state of the poll:
I)70.56 % of the voters do own 4E books (not necessarily all books)

II) 56.46 % of the voters are already playing 4E (without having giving up on it ;) )

III) 8.14 % would like to play, but can't for some reason. (this doesn't include people that would play despite not owning the book - I excluded these because they might not have a particular interest)

IV) 9.58 % would play, but don't for some reason. (this does include the people excluded above.)

V) Adding II and IV, 66.04 % would or already do play 4E.

VI) 8.83 % played the game, but decided to not play anymore.

VII) 4.54 % read the books (with or without owning), and decided not to play.

VIII) adding VI and VII, 13.37 % decided not to play after some experience with the rules (either reading or playing)

I have the three core books plus the FR campaign guide. I DM a weekly game that's set in Cormyr. Me and my players are having a blast with the new 4E.

I should mention that I enjoy all editions, none really more than the other.

I went with....
"don't have any 4E books, and I do not plan to buy them or play the game. "

which paints a false picture (imho) that I might not even be willing to read it for myself to make a better decision.

The poll is missing .....

"don't have any 4E books, Have read them (or read some) and I do not plan to buy them or play the game."

I did read somewhat into the PH, but it didnt change anything for me. 3.5 (and Pathfinder) is where Ill continue to hang my hat.

Own the books. Ran one session of KotS with only the included rules. I liked it, as DM. I think most of the players liked it, but I know at least one didn't. I'm extremely eager to first finish my current 3.5 campaign, then restart KotS to really give the game a try.

There's been some hard knock lessons to learn about 4E. First, don't pick a fight by yourself. Second, work as a team or your all going to die. Third, Strikers need Defenders and Defenders need Leaders and it's easy to get overrun without a controller. Balanced parties are easier to DM for than inbalanced ones.

Other than that we are having a great time with it.

Good advice.

We're running KOTS, about 7 sessions into it, and planning on running Thunderspire and Pyramid. Right now i'm working on building maps for Thunderspire, and maybe venture into more 3D terrain.

I'd like to see a poll in a year or two from now asking what was your choice then, what is your choice now?

I know (anecdotally) that I bought the 3e playerss at a convention one day. Thought "Eh I doubt I'll ever play this." About a year later I decided to give it a try.

3.5 happened, I thought: Damnitall I've spent a ton on these 3e books, and now they have NEW stuff??? Screw 3.5 3e works just fine! Didn't buy it. Then I bought some 3.5 stuff and my 3e campaign became a 3.25 campaign... Then about 2 years later I started running a 3.5 campaign.

Damn your prognostications! I won't switch, now or ever! And . . . you . . . can't . . . make . . . me! ..............Noooooooooooooo!
