D&D 4E 4e house rules based on the rogue preview

I wouldn't make it too easy for Sneak Attack to be used with a variety of weapons, myself.

I am willing to bet that this really is a balance issue based on the new multiclassing system. Allowing a character to sneak attack with a longsword means that a rogue/fighter multiclass can combine sneak attack damage with a Fighter's longsword powers. Since it is likely that a Fighter's longsword powers are designed to do a lot of damage without sneak attack, it means that the combination of longsword powers and sneak attack damage could very easily be obviously more powerful than a pure Rogue or Fighter, leading to imbalances.

This is probably a more complex issue than "what weapons make sense with Sneak Attack", so I will wait to see the rules as a whole before saying Sneak Attack needs to be changed.

Well, I am assuming that the longsword will be medium sized. I could be making an @$s of u and me. :D As for all weapon restrictions... we'll see. I would have preferred they made certain abilities better with certain weapons instead of flat restrictions (like S.A. 1d4, or 2d6 with light weapons) but that might be easier said then done. However, I do hope multiclass works as promised- 'any combo, any level.' Really, I hope there is a (balanced) way for the f/r to use S.A. with his (whatever).

Those seems like reasonable house rules, but I think it will probably be better to first wait for the game to be released and try it RAW first, before making houserules.

I wont. I've done exactly that in more games than I'd like to think about, end result we didn't like the mechanics we thought we wouldn't like and we house ruled them after playing them for a while. If you have been playing games for a while there is a good chance you actually know what you and your players like, trust in your own feelings don't trust the feelings of the designer who doesn't play at your table, he plays a different game than you.

I fought the RAW, and the RAW won. ;)

I know you probably can't say but, honestly, you feel no desire to house rule anything. I cannot think that there will ever be a rule-set out that I wouldn't want to house-rule to some extent; even if I didn't bother because of various reasons.
House-ruling is such apart of DMing for me

Oh, I'm not saying that at all. I've never run a campaign (with the exception of a few 5-game-or-shorter mini-campaigns) that didn't involve some house rules, since I use house rules to tweak the flavor of a rules set for a particular feel or campaign, more than I do to correct what I see as problems. I'm sure I'll house-rule 4E for the same reasons, though based on what I've seen to date, I anticipate a much smaller HR list than I had for 3E.

I was mostly just being a smart-ass. I'm known for that occasionally. ;)
