We are not in 3.5 anymore. There isn't just Dex to calculate your AC in Light Armor, you can use also Intelligence. Here the detail.

Base: 10
Intelligence modifier: +4
Leather : +2
Armor of Faith (Avenger ability): +3

Total: 19

I have to say, I really find Armor of Faith unbalancing. That's a huge AC boost for a striker with little in the way of a clear reason for them to need it.

I'm not saying I don't use it, but I've been really struggling with why the striker should have a better AC than a tank.

First, if you compare the Avenger AC with the Sorcerer, Warlock are ranged striker, so you can't compare his AC with them, as the Avenger have very few option. Even the Rogue and Ranger have nice ranged option that allow him to stay clear of the danger if they need. The barbarian have extra hp that compensate his lower AC compare to other melee character.

Also, I had to take a feat to have that AC, which most melee character doesn't need to do, and with time, most other melee character will raise there AC faster, as heavy have better progression at higher level and leather doesn't have Paragon feat for Optimization.

I've seen once the Avenger into action, but not enough to tell his AC is abusive, strong or ok. We will see.

That certainly wasn't meant as an attack on you, Velmont, just a concern I've had with the Avenger after seeing it in play a few times. They might not pack quite as much of a punch as most strikers (although with the accuracy, that's debatable), but they have an AC like a defender (or better in the case of the warden). They don't have the hit points, but it's still a significant advantage, in my opinion. I've seen a couple played at various levels, and they seem much more hearty than melee rogues or rangers.
