In retrospect I guess I'm glad she did not grab say the 4th monster manual for show-n-tell. I can just imagine that parent-teacher conference right now. 'So Mr. Christ . .what exactly is this thing on page 213 and what's it doing to that small sheep?'
See, even if that had happened - that wouldn't be the worst case scenario. The worst case scenario would be that the teacher is an D&D gamer and avid ENWorld reader! ;)

Cheers, LT.

and that's what sucks about being a playtester. I know the answer. Most probably know I know the answer but I cannot answer it.

There's an answer? Hell, that's half the battle right there. :) That makes me very happy, even if Mearls lacks enough empathy to reply!

Mike can. He's probably laughing that evil laugh of his while adjusting that Mariners baseball cap (that hides his horns).

I don't doubt it.

If it makes you feel better though I have half a shelf of 4th edition stuff already and more space allocated for this summer.

Hmm. No, sorry, that does NOT make me feel any better. If anything, knowing that you have half a shelf of 4E stuff already just transfers some of my Mearl-anger to you. I would apologize but I find that I hate you.

So while I'm thinking of it (cuz we're all geeks and it's funny). My wife is taking my daughter (4) to preschool last week. It was show-n-tell day and she forgot to grab something and was upset. My wife told her 'Dad's backseat is full of stuff. Just find something back there to take for show-n-tell". My daughters response was 'MOM . .it's just all nerd stuff back here!!!' and I guess my wife almost ran off the road from laughing. In retrospect I guess I'm glad she did not grab say the 4th monster manual for show-n-tell. I can just imagine that parent-teacher conference right now. 'So Mr. Christ . .what exactly is this thing on page 213 and what's it doing to that small sheep?'

Gaming and kids don't always mix. More stores require beer at Gencon LOL

Haha, that's a great story. It would have been great if you got called into the school's office where half the faculty was waiting with the now-well-worn MM to ask you if you had the other 2 books. "Mr. Christ, show-and-tell has become a daily event. Please make sure your daughter is prepared tomorrow!"

I feel special now :P

This got me thinking. How much tinkering was done after the DnDXP I wonder? Were the books pretty much finished or were some significant changes initiated after watching the game in play during the convention? I guess I had assumed that the books were finished at that point.
