4E tactical game (recruitment closed)

We'll see how much work it takes for the first group, first. Two groups won't double that requirement (I can re-use encounters, items, and creatures, for one thing), but it'll still be an increase in workload and I'm sure my Into the New World party won't appreciate anything that slows my posting there any more than it already is :p

Very fair.
Even if you have the encounters etc already prepped just typing up a game for a new party -is- a lot of work.

I consider myself lucky to have gotten into Redclaws at all.

We are going to need to have a non-first level game going at some point. Since ePoL is taking off again (crosses fingers) I've got the option of doing some "past roleplaying" when the group was higher level. But that's a fairly high barrier to entry type thing (and realistically that would be months away at the earliest).

I don't suppose it'd be too cheesy to do some sort of "contest of champions" type random or semi-random dungeon crawl (i.e. virtually plotless combat).
For maximum weirdness everybody in the group could also DM; and run a different room.

I think that is an idea worth exploring, albeit in another thread. I wouldn't mind brainstorming that one with you; I wet my feet as DM running an arena-type setting whenever my first (and only, oddly enough) DM needed a break for a night. Start this in another thread and give me a yell afterwards--you know how to find me.

Sounds very fun to learn the new combat mechanics (also from the DM's side).
I have no approtiate map option to really DMing 4e.

What level? Early paragon? I think epic would be a little great jump, with most having only first level play expirience if any.

If you start such a thread, post a link here, please.

(And I really like your KotS. B'n'P for the win! :D )

Well, definitly interested. But despite half a dozend attempts to get into games since I've received the books (including lots of roleplaying investments usually), I've not even managed that much (Redclaw will hopefully change that today or tomorrow).

Getting a chance try out the very basic lvl 1 stuff at least once or twice and talks some tactics and a bit of 'why power x better than y" is really what I'd be looking for, before moving up to higher levels, let along DMing.

[sblock=Zweischneid]Trying to get into online games can be pretty discouraging.

And 4e is very hot right now. Personally I think you'd be a shoe-in in any sort of normal situation. Don't give up!

[sblock=And, of course]
... you're welcome to join ePoL... nobody responded (except you and redclaw of course) to the confusing ooze that was my meta-discussion thread but two people posted applications directly to OOC thread so we're starting up again now.

I will "push" the game into bog-standard DnD combat & exploration fairly quickly.[/sblock]

edit: But I'm really not posting to pimp. You -will- get in. Right now it's tough but as soon as there are a few 4e games running a lot of pressure will ease off.
Enworld needs good players, please stick around! :)
