As Shamal starts his performance, Merrick points at torches on the perimeter of the area and the torches dim and go out, adding to the mood. (and hopefully give Torhak some more shadows to work with)

His voice reverberates through the cave as he translates Shamal's speech. At the mention of the word Dretchoroyaster, a roar and rumbling of footsteps can be heard in the distance.

The additions are subtle and infrequent so as to add to the story and not distract from it.

As mentioned in the other thread, aiding Shamal and giving Torhak some help as well.

Team Lake - Aywin

As the others ponder his question, Aywin has a telepathic conversation with Svetlana. He wants to know how long she believes she would need to fully explore the transporter network and wants to get a clear idea of what she saw.

Torhak remains close to the group, but doesn't do anything but follows the statuette. If it seems like the chieftain wouldn't part with it, he prepares, planning the details of the heist l.

Terrin AC:15* HP:27/31 HD:4/4 PP:14 SSdc14 4/4 3/3 CD:2/2 Slp:1/1

As Copper joins the game, Terrin attempts to goad the ox-handler to anger, having taken note of his hatred towards the cultists.

"See what I mean," he hisses as they both observe the table, "they let him play when he only just got here, while you've been here, what, how many years now?"

OOC: Charisma (Persuasion): 1D20+3 = [3]+3 = 6

Egads! That's a 4 for Deception. Sorry guys!

Team Caves

Shamal danced and told his story. The kobolds shrieked and cheered where appropriate. Every one of them seemed to appreciate when Shamal gave them individual attention, as if they were very surprised that someone so lofty and important would cast his gaze upon them.

His performance was enhanced by Merrick and Urgan lending some magical flourishes, and it was further enhanced by fortune, as their beetle demolished its opponent in a gory rending timed well with the dance's crescendo.

The Kobold Chief, Urbone the Magnificent, made a great show of holding the idol over his head before presenting it toward Shamal.

(Torhak lurked not far away, invisible in the shadows under a rocky overhang).

Team Infiltrate

The card table held everyone's attention as Copper and Lorent worked together to slip cards to the player who seemed to be the least-liked cultist playing. This player constantly complained, even when he was winning, and seemed none the wiser when his 'luck' changed, as if it were somehow exactly right that he should have all the good cards). The others were clearly not happy with his newfound luck, and it was made worse that he still complained, even while winning.

As the game neared the perfect spot for the reveal, with tempers high, Terrin, still only half-able to keep up with the game as he finished unloading the wagon, attempted to rile the mercenary. As soon as he said it, he knew that he had misspoken, as the mercenary looked at him for the first time with a puzzled expression that seemed to read, "Why don't I know you?"

The mercenary didn't raise an alarm; instead he waved to Rowlow, as if he needed the grizzled veteran's help with something. Terrin put the last of the grain-sacks into a pile as he watched the two mercenaries converse near the portcullis that separated the storeroom from the prison. Then Rowlow wandered over toward him, with the mercenary watching.

OOC: @Hriston, what would Terrin like to do? @Leatherhead or @Neurotic, do you have a method in mind for the "big reveal" on the 'cheater'? Do you think Copper lost a lot of his 'tribute' to the guy?

Team Lake

Svetlana was made a telepathic guestimate of five to ten minutes on repeating her scouting. Guldred had overheard Aywin suggest that the group abandon the lakes for using the teleporter, and he began to object, reminding Shade-9 that he'd hoped for aid in exchange for his information. He had just moments earlier admitted to very little first-hand knowledge of the dragon. Muragh, he'd said, had met with the cultists in their temple, but Guldred didn't know if his enemy had been presented before the dracolich. He thought it likely that the dracolich was "sleeping", as it had generally done for as long as the lizardfolk had known the mountain.

Svetlana had only just repeated to Aywin her admission that the cultists had observed her activation of the transporters, even if they hadn't seen her, when the nearby transporter's red stone began to glow brightly, and its rune-pattern fluttered. There was a popping noise and two mercenaries clad in the red-and-black of the Beast Boys appeared inside. One was carrying a burning lantern and a drawn longsword, and the other was holding a loaded crossbow. They were prepared for trouble, but had perhaps, not been expecting it to be so closely gathered around their destination.

The one with the lantern shouted, "You, there! Surrender or die!"

OOC: I will return with a combat-roller once I'm on my laptop.
