(5.24 PBP) Vault of the Dracolich (IC) Redux

Copper AC:15 HP:31/31 HD:4/4 PP:14 CloudJ:2/2

Copper gumbles and hands over some of his 'tribute' to the 'winning' cultist, but also sneakily slips in a few high value cards from the deck into the pile, that way the cultist suddenly has more cards on his side of the table.

OOC: Well, provided things don't explode for Terrin, everything is set up at the table now! Lorent can try to draw attention to the cards maybe?
slight of hand + cards: 2D20.HIGH(1)+8 = [6, 19]+8 = 27

Urgan is enjoying the celebrations, and the dance, and looks at the kobold chief proudly wearing his feathers. He offers Minor illusions to supplement the dance (a cymbal crash or a small firework when he feels it will enhance, but nothing to distract from the performance itself. The egg still sitting uncomfortably in his belly, he refuses the next drink a kobold hands him, and he leans back against the wall, listening to the music, smiling and tapping his foot, with his eyes closed.

His eyes are closed but he still sees, through the eyes of Scamp, who has wandered over to the column and runes and red stone. If he can Investigate through the hyena, he will do so. If a kobold is upset at Scamp marking his territory, or whatever the hyena begins to do if confronted, then either Urgan can go over (to continue the investigation) or the familiar can pad back to where Urgan is, a hand readily reaching out to scritch its neck.

TEAM LAKE - SUBJECT:SHADE-9 - Beast Boys : In Your Face!

"I will help you" Shade-9 fixed his gaze directly upon Guldred, noting the Lizardfolks agitation "Mission Objectives have been updated, but all parameters must be considered."

Aywin had suggested direct pre-emptive use of the teleporters via Svetlana's intel, but Shade-9 did not agree. He had logged and assessed the data and there were too many unknown variables, the enemy was alert, they had arcane capability and better understanding of the unmapped teleportation network.

Shade-9 was about to disagree with Aywins suggestion, the risk of using the teleporters too high - but his objection was cut off when the Teleporter triggered again

[COMBAT PROTOCOLS ENGAGED]

"take cover" Shade-9 to Guldred as he turned to the 'pop' of the spatial distrotion and the two mercenaries emerged. Panels slid on the warforged' limbs deploying his long bow and quiver as he moved into position, instinctively seeking shadows.

He honed in on the Beast Boy wielding a crossbow, and silently shot directly at the Beast Boys face

Team lake - Aywin

With peaceful satisfaction, Aywin was glad the discussion was cut short by these two mercenaries. Better to handle them as they trickle in than all of them at once he thought to himself.

Telepathically. he direct Svetlana to invisibly harass the mercenary in front of him, as he strikes him.

OOC: Item interaction: grab greatsword Grab pike from back
action: cast true strike. Attack M2 (assumed with advantage because of Svetlana) 13 Miss!
Damage: 3 slashing because of graze weapon mastery 0
Note that I realized that I didn't note down which weapon mastery Aywin knows. he's a melee combattant, so it'll be graze (greatsword) and Push (pike)
Move: move to H45

Message
As the celebrations started winding down, Merrick says to Urbone,

“Amazing. Thank you Chief. Where should we go now? How should we signal to your people that we are secretly allies if we happen to run into them?”

Then quietly to Shamal,

“We should let the others know of our progress.”

Merrick would suggest the following sending:

“objectives complete:
One Statue and alliance with Kobold chief Urbone.
Secret from Cultists and dragon
Raw eggs tasty. Urgan has sore tummy
Dancing surprisingly fun”

Team Infiltrate

While Terrin knew a thing or two about mercenaries and their practices, he knew very little about the Beast Boy company, beyond their grim reputation. Rowlow had been reluctant to leave the game behind, but he came to the storeroom and was about to question Terrin on when, how, and where he'd been recruited. The veteran had a sly look, and Terrin doubted that he'd be successful with his answers. He was certain that he was about to be found out.

But then, at the card table, one of the Cultists noticed that Copper's mark held too many cards. He angrily stood, shoving the table, and he demanded to know where the cards came from. The 'cheating' cultist was insulted by the insinuation, and argued innocence too forcefully to appear sincere.

"Stick close to me. I'm not done with you yet." Rowlow told Terrin, while turning back toward the card table. It was part of his duty to try to make sure that the cultists, a rowdy bunch, did not murder one another. He shouted to those at the card table, "What's all this about then!?"

Fingers were pointed and it was decided, after some argument, that the cheater would spend the night in a cell, until Wyrmspeaker Silakul had been informed of the trouble. He went reluctantly, with his accuser heckling him until Rowlow had shut the iron gate and locked it with his ring of keys.

Team Lake - Darius

Darius can sense the spatial shift just before the two mercenaries appear from the teleporter. As they call for the groups surrender a bolt floats up from the quiver at his side and streaks towards the closest mercenary.

"I choose option 3. Drop your weapons or you die."

OOC: Action: Telekinetic fling at Merc2: 1d20+6 23 1d10 7 force damage.
Move: staying put for now.

Also I forgot to mention it but I would have cast Mage armor right after we entered the caves.

Lastly what type of armor are the mercs wearing? Do I think they could swim if I dump them in the lake?
