Team Lake

"Whye do yhu brringz zsa Ouhtcasst here? He duhz not belongh."
demanded the Lizardfolk Chief. He appeared willing to parlay, but the circumstances of their arrival put him on edge. Even more than him, who stood mostly calmly, as if a fight would please him every bit as much as a discussion, the guards at the watery tunnel entrance appeared to be very near to attacking Guldred, an act that was their duty to preform, he having been outcast on pain of death.
Team Lake - Aywin

Responding to the usurper's question, Aywind says gently yet firmly: "That is a fair question friend. We were sent to these caves to fight the cultists. My understanding is that they put you in power, displacing our friend Guldred here. I therefore ask you to leave."

Aywin telepathically tells Svetlana to be ready to harass the chieftain invisibly.

Urgan is disappointed his spell doesn't work, but before he tries again he attempts to grab Velandra so that she does not escape. With a wide sweep of his arm... he attemps to connect. Velandra's voice cries out, clear and confident, "Flee and save yourself! I'll be fine!"

OOC: Wisdom save: 1d20+1=15 vs dc 14, PASS. Not slowed. (sorry, forgot to put Urgan's name).
Scamp wis save: 1d20+1=6 FAIL. Scamp, unable to attack anyways, is SLOWED.

Urgan:
Action: Unarmed strike vs. Velandra, attempting to Grapple. Unless I'm mistaken, this is a DEX or STR save vs DC 13. If she fails, she has grappled condition (speed = 0, disadvantage on any attacks except vs. me)

If grapple is successful, Urgan will move 15' (what he's allowed when grappling someone) directly north to AP 4 (getting away form the Merc)
(Thought about turning invisible and trying this -- I don't think it breaks invisibility -- but saved the spell.)

Bonus Action: cast Minor Illusion. Velandra appears to cry out "Flee and save yourself! I'll be fine" (visual -- her lips move along with the sound.).

Terrin AC:15* HP:18/31(36) HD:4/4 PP:14 SSdc14 2/4 2/3 CD:2/2 Slp:0/1
Intrigued by the obelisk's strange markings, Terrin is momentarily oblivious to his party's deliberations and their venturing forth from the cave to intercept the fanatic. Realizing that, rather than trying to lure the elf away from the cave as he had purposed, his companions are attempting to draw him in for an ambush and abandoning his interest in the broken obelisk for the time being, Terrin moves back to the cave mouth where he can better judge the elf's present location and directs his lights to cross the water and to surround him, hoping to give Copper and Stryke a better shot at their target.

OOC: Terrin moves to N-28 and moves the lights into a tight formation centered on U-39.

Noticing the scorch-marks left by the elf's fiery spark on the back of Lorent's robes, Terrin reaches out his hand to his companion.

"If I may," he says and incants a few words in an unpleasantly rough tongue, making a sign in the air with his hand before placing it on Lorent's back.

OOC: Terrin casts cure wounds on Lorent.
Healing: 2D8+7 = [7, 3]+7 = 17

Muragh, the Lizard-Chief chuckled, a low, grinding-wheezing rumble. He said, "Why wuhld I leevh whon I 'ave ebvree fhing I evha whanted?"

He said it defiantly, but Aiwyn had the impression that it was a true question - what was in it for him? It had better be good.

TEAM LAKE - SHADE-9 - .umm?..

Shade-9's optics narrowed as he focussed in on Aywin and the Lizardfolk chieftain, taking note of the subtle movements and microexpressions that might give clues to their intent. He had not expected Aywin to be so blatantly demand that the Lizardfolk leave nor for Muragh to take it as an opportunity.

[Threat State: Negotiations Ongoing, minor escalation
Engaged [Subject:Aywin] [Subject:Muragh-Lizardfolk Leader] — defensive, transactional
Mission Priority: Overwatch, preserve stealth monitoring, minimise collateral damage.
]

Shade-9 had been optimised for stealth infiltration, his social awareness sufficient to blend in and maintain a low profile. He did not understand the subtlies of negotiation, so he could not fathom what strategem Aywin might have in mind. But it did seem that they were currently at a disadvantage, a stalemate in the Mission that required either a threat escalation or an offer of concessions - what did Aywin or the others have that the Lizardfolk might want? An alliance against the greater threat in the mountain?

Shade-9 shifted his weight, he would maintain his concealment, seeking the cloak of the shadows, his bow primed and ready to ambush which ever target made itself a priority...

TEAM LAKE - Aywin

Responding to the question, and not to the defiance, Aywin answers calmly "Well, see it this way friend. We are here to resolve the cultist issue in these mountains. We are many more than you can see here. So you already lost what they gave you. I offer you the chance to leave peacefully. I am sorry friend, as I know this will be a shock to you, but you are no longer chieftain."
