5E: Fifth Edition Monsters Inspired by Third Edition Sources

Fair enough. Could rename the "Converting Prehistoric Creatures" thread to "Converting Prehistoric Creatures and Assorted Creepy-Crawlies" thread...otherwise I could rename the "Giant tabanid (horsefly)" thread to "giant insect/arthropod homebrew"

I think it'd be easier starting a new thread and having an Index of all the 5E Giant Arthropods we've done as the first post.

Might as well do that now…

Came across this on youtube, Fiinkel holds that Pazuzu has been unjustly maligned :D

Just realised never finished this foe and I want to...

ok back to CR 3 aerial critters - having re-read the thread, I think boils down to "titanic tabanid" or a "giant mosquito"...with a preference for the latter. I'll whip something up.

Might as well finish what we started.

A simple solution is to just use the Giant Imperial Dragonfly as the CR 3 entry, since we've already statted it up.

Then we'd only need to change the note to:

* The exalted thrall's giant insect spell can transform up to ten locusts, five wasps, three flies, or one dragonfly. A wasp becomes a giant wasp, a fly becomes a giant horsefly (see Giant Tabanid for statistics), a locust or similar grasshopper-like insect becomes a giant locust (see Giant Grasshopper for statistics) and a dragonfly becomes a giant imperial dragonfly (see Giant Imperial Dragonfly for statistics).

That said, I do have Giant Mosquito on the list of giant arthropod possibilities, so we might as well stat that one up too!
