Yeah, and the early trend here suggests we might end up seeing similarly-low results.Mine is fine. No problems so far for the other 4 books in our game. Of the roughly copies we have sold, only one has come back with the binding issue. ( I won't give numbers, but that is way under 1%)
My "random guess estimate" was 20% defective, which would indicate a huge problem. 1% would just be a hiccup, and significantly less than 1% approaches the realm of normally acceptable rates of defect. [Caveats: 1) This assessment assumes this problem is limited to the Player's Handbook, not recurring throughout the product line; 2) Our data is from an admittedly non-representative sample that comes exclusively from ENWorld posters less than two months after the book's release date; and 3) My analyses here are completely amateur, as I'm neither a trained analyst nor publishing industry insider--I'm trying to be objective, and hopefully I'm doing alright.]
Agreed: the internet's perception is a whole 'nother variable that we're not analyzing here. From the poll, it looks like about 8%, enough to get internet traction...but no problem for me, as mine is good!
And thats what counts.
Thanks bud! I'm trying to be open-minded and objective with my data-collection.Mine nearly fell apart, but Elmer's glue largely fixed it. Just a few pages stick out a bit from the book (couldn't quite get them square to glue in).
I responded as "coming loose"--the pages were about 1/2 out (top half not attached).
Nice poll BTW. I'd no idea how many people were or were not having problems...
I already wish I could add another option for people who've had defective books and returned them, and I also wish it was possible for folks to change their answers--I suspect that at least some folks will have a different response in a few months.
