8 power sources. so what are the other 4?

I don't think we should be taking the term "source" too literally. Martial is a "source" but it's not like there is a ginormous bucket of "martial power" somewhere in the universe from whence fighters draw their ability to hit people hard on the head.

I don't know if these would fall under arcane or divine or not, but ...
1) Something stellar/stars/fate/luck/heavenly bodies inspired
2) runes
3) light/solar (if you can have shadow, why not the opposite? :-P)
4) ooze! :-P (what else could power the ooze master from masters of the wild or power the teenage mutant ninja turtles? :) )

again, though, i realize the above probably can easily be overlapped into arcane or divine

Probably a good way to go about this is to look through the 3/3.5 supplements, find the new classes and PrCs, and see what power sources those might have in 4e since that is all the base starting material...

No no no. Obviously they are reserving the unknown power types in order to lure new markets into D&D

Therefore the will unveil each new powersource with a marketing campaign intended to attract new gamers into that sort of thing.

So likely new power sources are:

L33T: Haxxzors reality with your deep knowledge of the working of the rules and total lack of regard for conventional spelling.

Emo/Goth: The power of teenage angst and dark clothing. Additional powers lead to strange hair colors/cuts and new piercings.

Anime: Style before everything. Pilot giant shapeshifting golems. Leap tall buildings in a single bound. Pull giant hammers out of nowhere. All while attending highschool.

Cute: Fairy princesses ride flying unicorns into battle while animated plush toys cheer them on from the sidelines.

... God I hope I'm wrong. :D :p

Every bitter 30+ year old goth will tell you that emo has nothing to do with goth.

And besides Metal and Hardcore make better power sources.

Especially when having Hardcore as a power source enables you to fight invisible ninjas, throw monkeys off your back and pick up change and make you seem like a bad-ass because you're a straight-edge vegan (when you're not). Who can beat that for a power source?

Like illusion and necromancy have been subsumed under the rubric of the Shadow power source, both of these will be manifestations of the power source Kawaii.

Can't believe no one mentioned THE power source most likely to appear (due to a simple typo):

Marital power source.

Husband - Marital Defender
Wife - Marital Controller
Mother-in-Law - Marital Leader
The Ex - Marital Striker
