A 10' Cone... What's it look like?

I posted this on the WotC boards, but people can't figure out what it is, so I'm trying here.

I was doing some work on some custom effects, and ran into a bit of a problem...

I've never seen a template for a 10' Cone effect, and I'm not quite sure how it would shape... My best bet would be something like:

XOX
XOO
CXX

XXX
OOO
XOX
XCX

Where the O's represent spell area, C represents the caster, and the X's represent uneffected squares. Would that be right?

Looking at the DMG, the first one should be:

XOO
XOO
CXX

Second one should be:

XOO
XOX
XCX

or

OOX
XOX
XCX

I'm basing the second one on the 15-ft cone and 30-ft cone diagrams in the DMG.

but in your 10' cone diagram, isn't the northeast square 15' away, not 10'? I think the original poster's first diagram is correct:

xOx
xOO
Cxx

Perhaps... It's just that the other diagrams have a "bump" in them since the end of the cone is an arc. DM's decision. :)

No. Look at 10' Reach for a DnD example.

A better example would be to look at a 10' radius spell, which looks like this:
_XX_
XXXX
XXXX
_XX_

Since cones are quarter-circles nowadays (I preferred 3.0 cones, BTW), a 10' cone should look like this:
__X_
__XX
_C__
